They carried out the attacks during the day instead of at night. My assessment is that they believed if Iran’s defense systems intercepted the attacks at night, it would be clearly visible on live TV channels. That would not create a good impression for the Americans. So they chose daytime, thinking that if any defense system stopped the missiles, it would be less noticeable and receive less media attention.

If Iran intercepted attacks, there would be fighter aircraft down and I highly doubt that. It doesn’t matter night or day. If anything like the last two times Iran was attacked, they have shown complete control of Iranian skies.

Where are everyone here who were opposing me about pre-emptive strikes?

Even though Iran attacking first was not even technically pre-emptive as US war machine was deploying at its doorstep. If you let your enemy deploy around you, prepare around you, load ammunition, select targets while at striking distance then you have all the rights in the world to push back the enemy by striking it as technically war has already started once enemy has started massive deployments at your gates.

...but, to be fair, the Chinese were unwilling to sell fighters, and the Russians long-stroke-screwed Iran with the Su-35 deal, which it will never receive.

Attacking US military will give hard line US hawk the good reason and context to destroy Iran completely. US population will support that like 9 elevent 2001 event is used to invade Iraq.

I hope you will re-assess now. I was saying Iran must act now and do max damage while it can. Deployment of war machine at its doorstep is already a declaration of war but you guys were opposing. You guys had same mindset as Iranian leadership.

Initial wave seemed to hit 30-50 targets. Not that significant.

Iran should not let enemy deploy with full scale at its doorsteps. IMO, Iran should keep firing "warning shots". Some cheap missiles or drones as warning shots and not neccessarily targetted right at CSG but at some kms offset. Tell clearly that these are warning shots to avoid any casualities and to tell americans to back off from attacking us. The biggest advantage is that enemy resources will bleed in these warning shots. Everytime they detect vectors fired, they will fly their aircrafts from the deck. That is tiring exercise adding psychological toll. Secondly, they will fire their SM-2s or other expensive & limited missiles on incoming vectors (as they dont take risks). The key is Iran do not have to be passive. Iran should bleed their resources continously. If Iran let US attack Iran first then US will target launchers first. USN aircrafts, strategic bombers, Israeli airforce, destroyers & submarines all together will be firing at 100s of ballistic missile sites. Lot of Iran's launchers & missiles will be wasted before they can be used. So, Iran should never let enemy attack at their time of choosing, keep bleeding their resources before they can plan and execute anything, don't let them plan and execute their D-day plan. Create massive disruptions

If they are running low on their interceptor missiles before their D-day then they will not attack. Some day fire drones, some day launch 100 of missile boats that go few kms ahead and then return. So enemy keep guessing and keep bleeding their resources. Iran's benefit is that it is on its own turf. US has come with limited number of resources, if you bleed them before their D-day then you may even avoid war. This scenario gives off-ramp to US as well. As there will be no causalities.

I don't know why Iran is not declaring deployment of war machine at its door step as declaration of war.

Even when first CSG was coming. Iran should have had declared that if it comes within 1500 km then we will consider it as act of war. As it was by all means coming for Iran. Trump was saying from day one that our big and beautiful ships are heading to Iran. Should never let your sworn enemy in striking distance.

As they approach striking distance then one has all the rights to fire "warning shots". Those warning shots keep enemy away. You just can't let them sit and stay at striking distance of you while they prepare and are showing their intentions. Being passive will mean defeat.

Most critical mistake one can do is to let the enemy gather its all resources and assets and deploy with full strength at your doorstep.

Why on earth you would want to be attacked on time and place of their choosing. This give a MASSIVE big advantage to the enemy.

I was thinking that Trump would find an off ramp and go away, but now since when they have called up second aircraft carrier along with many other assets then its very clear that they will not go without strikes. They are coming to strike ballistic missile manufacturing infrastructure & bases. They may choose to attack leadership too. Why Iran is letting them gather and prepare is beyond my understanding. Least Iran should is fire warning shots every day (drones and old cruise missiles few kms ahead of CSG). That will ensure no causality but will cost enemy disruptions in their deployments and also they will spend their interceptor missiles, Will also create psychological toll. Goal should be tire the enemy before their D-Day plannings also empty their interceptors. Just don't let enemy build up on you. They are spending billions in those deployments. They intend to kill Iranians and destroy its missile program progress and possibly eliminate the leaders too. No talks can change that fact. Why Iranian leadership isn't understanding this.

US has made their mind. They are not bringing so many assets just for "talks". Strikes are inevitable. Iran is letting US gather, prepare and deploy at its doorstep.

Its like my enemy comes in front of me and start putting bullets in its gun and I keep waiting and let him do so.

Every day I am puzzled by Iran's inaction. Every day critical supplies and weapons are being transported to middleeast. Everyday the admirals in CSG and people in pentagon are planning, marking positions and sites and assigning units who will take out those on D-day. Assignments to destroyers, fighter squadrons, submarines. Those units are then rehearsing, adding coordinates and getting prepared everyday. They are arming their missiles, they are testing everything, they are coordinating, they are communicating without a single disruption. They are doing that while the target is right in front of their eyesights.

Iran had one advantage that it is their home base. US didn't had everything they need for war on Iran here. They had to bring everything to the theatre. They are using "talks" as time buying option until everything is ready to hit.

They want 2 things. 1) Destruction of Iranian missile manufacturing sites (2) Killing some of the leadership.

War is now inevitable. Why should Iran allow enemy to attack according to enemy's plan and schedule. Iran MUST create total chaos and disruptions in US plannings. Atleast start firing warning shots through your drones, keep most of enemy out of striking ranges. Iran has all the right to defend itself.

No country should ever allow its enemy to deploy war machines at its doorsteps. Once they are deployed with all logistics in place, then you lose your home advantage. Secondly, whoever attacks first do the MAXIMUM damage and pain in the first wave. Should not let enemy take the lead every time.

Iran cannot avoid the war, but Iran can make the war very costly for the enemy. I think Iran has 3 options:

1 - Let US attack with full preparation and planning on its D-day and take maximum damage in the start of war. Many sites will be destroyed even before put to use.

2- Attack first, do as much damage as possible. Make war costlly for the US from day one and then hope US tires with cost of war during the campaign.

3- Keep firing "warning" shots with its old missiles / drones. Purpose is disruption and creating chaos and not let enemy plan & execute everything as enemy desires and keep enemy units away. Give them least options to execute at any given time.

If you play by the rules set by your enemy then you are doomed. Its simple is that. Everything is fair in warfare, Iran needs to set rule of the game that favors itself. Iran needs to find ways to surprise enemy and think of most craziest and most immoral ways that enemy may try to surprise it. As enemy is very clever and cunning with modern tools and technology.

Don't wait and give the enemy a chance to attack on their time of choosing. That would be a blunder. If you don't want to "escalate" then keep disrupting their deployments without causing causalities but show your willingness that it will get ugly if enemy attacks. Create Chaos and disruptions. Extend the area of your "war exercises" and do these on daily basis.

If enemy deploy its forces at your doorstep then you have all the right in the world to fire warning shots, so enemy backs off or is unable to deploy in the manner they planned to do so.

Deployment in striking range is key for success in any military op. Availability of logistics is critical for sustained strikes. US is in process of doing so using "talks" as a time buying tactic. In the end, talks will fail. No one can meet US demands. Those demands are set in a way that talks will fail. Abandoning missile program is like giving up your only remaining deterrence, so US or Israel can do anything they want like Venezuela style without worrying about any consequences.
