Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

One possibility is that Trump resorts to carpet bombing with B-1/B-2 bombers akin to the "Linebacker" operations during the Vietnam war to get Iranians to accept defeat. But the way things are looking, Iranians are past the point of surrender. They just have to hold on to their wits and outlast the Israeli/US aggression. That will be a strategic win for Iran.
strategic win and then what? How will Iran rebuild while maintaining hostilities with the US? Rinse and repeat of whac a mole of Iranian leader followed by bombing, droning and missile attacks every six months? Persisting would require continuing to divert funding to the military at the expense of investments in the economy. I suspect the Iranian people have had enough of this vicious cycle. I once claimed Trump wouldn't attack Iran not with the mid terms looming. I was wrong, he doesn't care about the elections or public opinion. So while he is President, are we in a destructive loop?

Whats mind boggling is how 100 billion defense budget of Saudi Arabia served for nothing, same for the other PGCC with their shiny F-16 and Rafale/EF-2000 which served for strictly nothing

All of this to get attacked by Iran's missiles and just sit there and do nothing

And people back in 2016 were telling us that UAE could invade Iranian islands and that Saudi Arabia is a threat to Iran with its shiny toys, and that Iran's missiles and drones were from AliExpress or photoshopped

Too early to make that judgement. These vassals are all waiting for orders from Washington and there is something serious cooking that involves an extensive GCC/US/Israeli air campaign over Iran while simultaneously the US Navy/Marines push to open the Strait and seize Kharg Island, with a raid on the nuke materials a bonus.

A very fair question. A strategic win for Iran would mean the US gives up the idea of changing the govt to its liking and smashing the country to pieces, because the cost of doing so proved prohibitive for the US and its vassals. It will have to learn to co-exist with Iran in the region. Otherwise we may be back at this in another 8 to 12 months.

The money from the "defense budget" is often used for corruption and embezzlement of public funds. EX: USA announce a "defense budget" of 900 billion dollars, but 600 billion of this amount goes to "private security companies that work for the American government" (companies like Blackwater, Halliburton, and others). It's the biggest corruption scheme of all time.

Trump has had 6 corporate bankruptcies

1991 – Trump Taj Mahal casino (Atlantic City)
1992 – Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino
1992 – Trump Castle Hotel and Casino
1992 – Plaza Hotel (New York)
2004 – Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts
2009 – Trump Entertainment Resorts

Number 7 will be USA thanks to this war.

The Iranians aren't crazy. Even the moderate ones don't buy American/Israeli propaganda. Most sane Iranians understand that they must resolve their issues by themselves. What Israel made the US do is suicide and we are witnessing the results as we speak.

Problem is what is the US offering instead? We choose your government and take your oil? AFAIK they never offered sanctions relief during negotiations while demanding Iran unilaterally disarm itself. The US seems to only want to engage in diplomacy where it takes your carrot and beats you repeatedly with a stick.

This is what happens when you have to fight a nation with an actual credible military.

I said this in the Russia-Ukraine war thread when that war first began:

'The days of superpowers having the capabilities of quickly winning wars against middle powers is over.'

Defense tech, especially in the realm of drones, has made it nearly impossible to quickly win wars against middle powers. The US, just like Russia, is incapable of swiftly defeating any power in the top 20 military powers in the world. Any war would be quickly spiral into a war of attrition, as we've seen in Ukraine and now Iran. This is something superpowers cannot tolerate in the long term.

The US has lost this war, and now its desperately looking for an off ramp, something Iran is no longer willing to offer.

The US's global presence, especially in the middle east is now irreversibly damaged. The gulf Arabs have now seen that the US cannot be relied upon, so they will now look towards alternatives.

The rest of the world, especially nations like Japan and South Korea are looking at the US and thinking "Well, there goes our so called reliable partner", and are now ramping up domestic defense industries, and realigning their global alliances. They're no longer confident that the US will come to their defense.

The days of the US being the sole hyper-power is now over. I expect the US economy and military to be irreparably damaged in the long term, as the US economy stagnates and has no choice but to make cuts to its military capabilities.

Trump has now guaranteed China's position as the top power in the world in the medium to long term.

If we dive deep into history, it is actually the Americans and Western nations that backstabbed the Shah and set the stage for Ayatollah Iran.

Let's see. Judging by the posts of some people on this site and wider internet, they believe the mega super hyper USA and Israel can overcome these initial blunders and will totally crush Iran in next few months leaving it at the same level as war torn Somalia.

That would be a wrong approach. Iran is not a pushover by anybody's standards, and the war thus far shows it clearly. It is too early to just dismiss Iran, given the evidence of its continued offensive posture.

The initial blunders do not bode well for USA for sure. It shows that it went into a marathon with its pants down by its ankles. By the time it pulls them up, it will have to catch up first, before hoping to lead in the race to win.

Given the blithering liars in charge, continued missteps may well lead to a US defeat, if they continue to ignore the advice of their own seasoned Generals because of their own egos and hubris.

Many an empire has come to and end just like that. USA is not immune, to such a fate either.
