That's because this war is unlike 2003, when we saw the damage from the ground with all the press reporting on site, we saw how brutal war is.But I am surprised how little grassroots opposition there has been from the public, compared to, for example, the 2003 war on Iraq. Except from the far-left Democrats and a few pure MAGA, most Democrats and Republicans are - may be slightly apprehensive and worried if things may go wrong - but otherwise holding their tongue. I think the lack of ground invasion is the main reason. There was similarly little public resentment against the 1999 NATO air attacks on Serbia.
It would have done nothing if all the Pentagon showed was some "Call of Duty" style footage and no one was allowed to show anything anywhere in the country.
If we went in with a ground force with press embedded, this would have been another story.
