Sure, They were not ordinary people, but they were also men above the age of 65 years old and in case of Supreme Leader he was 86 years old!

With such logic if they had instead peacefully retired then Iran would still have collapsed according to your theory.

In case of Larijani he is being replaced by a more hardline also over the age of 65 years old former nuclear negotiator.

Iran has MANY of these individuals. And naturally the ones that take OpSec seriously will survive and the ones who don’t and embrace martyrdom will die out. Selective Darwinism at its finest. The system will cleanse itself.

I wonder if Iran will just bombarded these plants with cluster munitions to cause widespread damage and keep the offline for weeks.

It is time for the Arabs to STOP protecting Israel like they are at the moment(eg Jordan) and let Israel face the wrath of Iran. That is more likely to stop the war, then anything else.

I understand what you are trying to say, my point, however, is that if leaders retire in peacetime, there is ample time for the upcoming generation to step in and take charge versus when taken out during war time. Moreover, this does and should impact the morale of the men fighting underneath them. So not the same thing in my humble opinion. Khamini was the supreme leader, the face of Iran, while his martyrdom ignited a fire in Iranians however, at the same time, are you suggesting his death had no impact on the morale of Iranians? I find it hard to believe.
