My brother in Christ, Qeshm is almost 70 times bigger than Iwo Jima and 4 times bigger than Gaza enclave.

You ain’t taking Qeshm with 5000-10000 soldiers. It’s 1500 sq km in size.

But it's not about the area only. I mean how many people lived in Gaza before the war? 2 million? 3 million? The population of Qeshm is barely 150K. How many soldiers have we stationed there?

The US will have absolute air dominance and they can absolutely bomb the military infrastructure of the island even using artillery from the Emirates. Even 5K soldiers with absolute dominance and proper training do have a real chance of invading a low populated island with already destroyed military infrastructure. And Trump has every reason to try that, if he thinks they have a chance. He needs closure badly.

We are doing quite poorly in defense. If it weren't for our offensive capabilities, thanks to our missiles and drones, this war would've ended in 4 days, as Trump initially claimed.

It's being called a 'withdrawal' but it could be a simple removal of sensitive or vulnerable hardware from a volatile environment. A true withdrawal would mean Iraqis reclaiming the bases. I doubt that will be so easy.

Iwo Jima was also bombarded by battleships before being invaded and the thought was the Japanese couldn’t survive on such a tiny island from the massive cannon fire. And yet still there was 7000 KIA and 19K+ injuries. Again how big was Iwo Jima? 30 square miles?

Qeshm is a natural floating aircraft carrier and is sitting less than 30 miles off the coast. It has networks of tunnels and was specifically developed for this exact task we are talking about, that’s why it’s sparsely populated. Iran doesn’t need human shields to hold it.

Your logic applies both way, even if the marines manage to secure the island at great cost. They are now sitting ducks on that same island as Iran bombards them with artillery, MLRS, drones, FPV, etc.

Many notable military analysts and former officials have discussed the fallacy of this island hopping logic.

To me it’s a feint and the real attack is somewhere else. Again your pre-war predictions were wildly off and I feel these ones are the same. But you are entitled to your opinion.
