Iran is doing as best as can be done with our current capabilities. But the truth is that our capabilities are not enough to win this war through damage and destruction. Our only bet is to absorb as many punches as possible while keeping the Strait of Hormuz closed. Then we can survive this war and work on a permanent solution (nuclear deterrence) after it's over.

At some point, probably soon, we will need the Houthis of Yemen to do the same in the Bab-el Mandeb.

None of the arab states possess nukes. Yeah we can't afford to escalate too much against the jews thanks to khamenei I blocking nuke development but the khaleejis are free game. Their existence has proven to be an existential threat to Iran. They could not fight this war without the complete cooperation of the arab states, amd they have announced their intent to deepen ties against Iran. Remember South Pars Gas Field? Remember the Tehran Metro? Remember the Azadi Stadium? Were these projects of military nature?
