C-130 and MQ-9 and helicopters flying deep in Iran for hours in broad daylight ...Khuzestan is THE SAME SIZE AS WEST VIRGINA
View attachment 189924
You want to find one pilot in this remote region of Iran with no helicopters or specialized planes while the other side has satellites, GPS beacons and countless drones and Search and rescue looking for him?
I mean you guys really need to get your expectations in check.
When the US lost a F-35 in South Carolina it took them 24 hours to find the jet because the pilot ejected and the plane kept flying.
The only fair criticism is why more helicopters or the low flying C-130 wasn’t hit. But again they are shielded by mountains so you need some tribal warlords to have manpads sitting and waiting or an AA team that survived the intial sweep.
Capturing the pilot would be a huge morale boost. If a ground invasion is imminent, maybe Iran doesn't want to mobilize troops and risk losing tactical advantage or revealing its hand. Iran's success will largely depend on the local population defending its territory. I could be wrong, but that's the way I see it.capturing his dead body is still worthwhile
didn't our military leaders invite the US army to come to Iranian territory if they dare, and now they are flying over our border provinces for hours with helicopters in low altitude in daylight? they should have been better prepared for this.
now we know why they tried to order 3000 MANPADs from Russia (a bit late for that).
no, it's a large mountainous province and now it is night time, he will be hard to findDid Iran capture the pilot(s)?
IDF admits its goal of disarming Hezbollah in Lebanon is unrealistic
naturally, they couldn't disarm Hamas (yet), so they have no realistic prospect of disarming Hezbollah
C-130 and MQ-9 and helicopters flying deep in Iran for hours in broad daylight ...
did we send all our MANPADs to other countries or something?
Artesh has no base in that entire province?
They were hoping to get the Lebanese army to do their work for them.
Rightly said. I don't why some Pakistani keep bringing up Air Force silver bullet when the missiles are doing a much better job without wear and tear factor on the pilot and machine. The missiles took out much of the IADS in the region. What would have been the plan to attack the entity? Going through heavily defended air space where you're easily tracked?Yup, unless if you were building an Arial combat force along the lines and scope of PLAAF you'd have a small chance against combined NATO/US airforces, anything less would have been cut to size in the first days of conflict.
It was the right decision by the Iranian, probably taken after desert storm mauling of the vaunted Iraqi AF by US/NATO, that investing any amount of money/resources into the AF would have been an exercise in futility. However, it did leave them with near zero defensive capability.
good response to the UAE sending their UAV into Iran (which was shot down)...
