Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

Neither side can do to each other the damage required to make concessions needed to get to a deal.

These strikes, if they happen, won't bring about desired strategic outcome that Trump administration are seeking.

It also sounds more like a scare tactic.

We all will find out only after both sides have taken their turns.

Houthis would have hit this by now

You are living in the past. Houthi’s are basically like a beefed up version of Iraqi PMU right now. Firing one or two rockets and drones every once in a while.

The Houthi’s that harassed shipping in 2023/2024 and fought the U.S. in 2025 are long gone. The Houthi’s that fought Saudi Arabia and UAE and fired hundreds of missiles at them and cms, also gone.

Who knows what happened to them, but something def did that hasn’t been revealed.

- cutting undersea cables in the strait of Hormoz

That won't help .. cutting undersea cables in Hormuz won't do serious damage , gulf countries have substitute in case of damaged done to these cables.

If you wanna harm it in a serious way you have to damage undersea cables in bab elmandab and red sea , those cables are responsible for about 20% of the world data transfer and 90% of the data between Europe and Asia and it will f*** the gulf countries internet for a very long time

Defense Secretary is making it sound like the operations aim is to weaken Iran's hold on the Strait of Hormuz and not necessarily strikes deep in Iran

No, they didn't, no, they never have in the history of the US

I appears you were right.
Johnson used the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution to bypass the War Powers Act and only when the Vietnam War became bad the Congress repealed the GoT Resolution.
Trump never bothered to Manufacture Consent for this war. It is futile debate.

The Gulf of Tonkin act became more controversial as opposition to the war mounted. A Senate investigation revealed that the Maddox had been on an intelligence mission in Tonkin Gulf, contradicting Johnson’s denial of U.S. Navy support of such missions. The Resolution was repealed in January 1971 in an attempt to curtail President Nixon’s power to continue the war.

that, and then there's countries that have all the "outsourced" jobs from the entire west, like india........so anything that chokes indian oil and gas supply will have ripple effects on western corporations, and shit will hit the fan if india cant function when energy dries up.
iran needs to choke the strait and bab el mandab as well, make it difficult for the world shipping to happen, raise the costs for everyone

Yes, I remember that but it was bullshit like almost every other thing that has come out of the mouths of the stupid people in this regime after the assassination of General Soleimani.

Even on paper, there is nothing that Iran can do to stop future US strikes.
We failed to establish deterrence. We failed to destroy Israeli infrastructure. We failed to kill Israeli citizens in large numbers. We failed to keep oil prices high. We failed to develop nukes. Heck, we didn't even dare to leave the NPT after all our official threats to do so. We failed to hit USN assets. We even failed to take Americans prisoner or kill hundreds of them.

We are a punching bag. We can hit Arabs now, but first of all, neither the US nor Israel cares about that. Secondly, this time shutting down the Strait of Hormuz won't have the same surprise effect anymore.
Iran has virtually destroyed the US presence in the Gulf. This is a massive achievement.
However this ends, the myth of US invincibility has ended.

The world is now a totally different place.

Yeah, that's such a fine thing for the Iranian citizens if tomorrow the US decides to hit Iran's power plants in the middle of summer.
