Iran was exporting oil before the war. Exporting oil again is not an achievement. Iran is $300b in the hole after the the last round (or a trillion according to Trump/Vance). Iran's only chance for recovering the sum is by tightly controlling and charging for transit. This Omani route erodes Iranian control by design. Without it Iranian capabilities will be attritted, mowed like a lawn, boiled like a frog.

Article 5 of the MoU says Iran to arrange safe passage, not US/Oman.

5. Upon the signing of this MoU, the Islamic Republic of Iran will make arrangements using its best efforts for the safe passage of commercial vessels with no charge for 60 days only from the Persian Gulf to the Sea of Oman and vice versa. Iran is explaining how it will spend its own money. "Made available" sounds like surplus US agri products instead of cash as suggested by Trump. Iran could buy foodstuffs from China and Russia without the need for this language.

I mean it’s a helicopter. Unlike a plane it cannot use its other engine(s) or glide towards land.

Not to mention you are more likely to probably survive a water landing than a hard land landing in a helicopter.
