At this point I think Mojtaba has to be braindead or a literal vegetable. He has no capacity to oversee the functioning of the state, and even if he does, all evidence point to him being influenced by those wretched people you listed. And as much as I'd like the military to takeover, I just don't see that happening anytime soon. Like I mentioned before, it will be a long and torturous 3-4 years, and our only option is to squeeze the Gulf States dry like a mafioso boss.

Strategic patience here means a lot of suffering for Iranians. If IR fails to act we will have destroyed infrastructure in addition to naval and economic blockade with no end in sight. IR has proven effective at neutralizing riots. So US will not get a color revolution. The reformists thrive in this environment. Meanwhile oil continues to make its way out of the region like water pouring through a sieve.

A big concern I have is with 25 million people in the workforce, by how much are we going to see that number dwindle in the years to come? The blockade will inevitably create shortages and less incentive for employers to pay or hire. What is the unemployment rate going to look like? Down by 5%, 10%, etc etc? And with Trump's recent decree, we're also going to see less foreign buyers of our exports. People keep looking at the oil sector in this war but it's all downstream to other products like rubber and plastics, textiles, pharmaceuticals, fabricated metals, paper, and electrical equipment, etc etc. Then there's the agricultural sector which will be hit just as hard. When inflation is through the roof and the demand isn't there anymore to hire or pay workers adequately, I can see Mossad recruitment at an all time high again and more protests to follow.

You are exactly right about the downstream knock on effects. This is war in another form. Actual peace and stability would create a huge economic boom and reconstruction. The US will never allow that for as long as they can. The status quo sanctions and blockade combined with destroyed infrastructure and the occasional mowing of the lawn and riots will create economic stagnation and poverty unseen by modern Iranians.

But as bad as the status quo is for Iran, it is still not enough to the US. Iran is the capstone project to 30 years of planning and wars. It can't linger forever. Iranians also have made statements about taking action if the blockade continues. But they do talk a lot and lack credibility. I personally think this is temporary. All or nothing.
