This is what I read today. The missiles/drones will be operating near the performance limits and have to be very accurate.

“Iran possesses adequate weapons for such an attack from its mainland, such as newer versions of the Khorramshahr missile that have an intermediate range, and the Shahed-136B kamikaze drone with a range of 4,000km [2,485 miles]”.

As long as that drone’s range sounds, Diego Garcia is 2,358 miles from the closest point in Iran; there are American defense experts who doubt the range and capability of Iran’s long-range attack missiles and drones.
