Imagine having a strong AD with Awacs backed bvr capable jets denying airspace over Iraq, Syria, Jordan.

You can raise F35 to some unbeatable untouchable marvelesque / avengers status, but it will also need to take on evasive measures if it detects a couple of bvrs coming its way. Iran's prowess with HGVs and ballistics means they can develop capable SAM/AAM, just need a suitable delivery platform. Plus its not like the sky is full of F35s only. There are other prized assets you can take out. You can achieve local air superiority theaters (Swift Retort, 2019), and use older 3rd gen planes to achieve strategic objectives.

Invest in every possible defensive/offensive weapon, and maintain a healthy balance. Should pakistan stop investing in its AF now that we're a nuclear state?
 
Now, give me a strike plan for this facility....no one knows the layout exactly, only educated guesses from what they gleaned from the IAEA suckers.

See.....not that easy to put a MOP down any hole and take it out.

I hope for once, Trump uses his brains because Iran has shown to be resilient. In this on week, it has proven that if it were to go down, it will go down fighting. USA just need to stay out of it.

As I posted earlier, the meeting he had with Field Marshal Munir must have influenced him greatly. These days, 2 weeks is a long time when people, especially here, were predicting something by the weekend.

Me included.
 
Israel is now using 40-60 jets a day to fire 100-120 munitions on about 20 or so targets in Iran.

Israel cannot come close the firepower it deployed on day one. Remains to be seen if they can keep this pace up for one more week.

Or will show up even weaker. Iran may have struck a airbase or two and Israel would keep it secret and try repairing quickly.

The key difference between Iran and Pakistan lies in the level of sanctions imposed. Iran faces extremely heavy sanctions, making it nearly impossible for them to acquire jet fighters or the technology from other countries. Moreover, they lack the independent capability to develop such aircraft. Even Pakistan, with far fewer restrictions, had to rely on China for producing the JF-17.


On top of that, maintaining a capable air force is an entire ecosystem—it requires extensive pilot training, tactical development, and a wide range of support systems. It’s far more complex and costly than it appears.


We have to be realistic. Given their limitations, this was Iran’s most viable option and the results speak for themselves. They are still capable of inflicting serious damage on Israel.

Despite all this, I do agree that they need to develop their airforce after this conflict through learning from Pakistan's experience in the 90s.

If USA strikes Iran by this weekend, then it proves that Munir was just on a paid vacation.

F35s are maintenance hogs, even the slightest amount of dirt on the fuselage erodes their stealth ability, they constantly need attention and maintenance, unmitigated daily sorties also take their toll, and you'll have to ground them for maintenance
