Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

There's no such thing as "Shia extremist", stop importing the problems of Sunni islam into Shia islam

Those "Persian chauvinists" lives in foreign countries and doesn't exist in Iran

I avoid discussion of sectarianism, however, any truthful discussion of Iran needs to take this into account. As the saying goes, it’s an elephant in the room that everyone is pretending isn’t there.

Every Muslim country has its religious extremists. In most countries it means Sunni extremism. In Iran it means Shia extremism. That’s all I mean to say. In Iran it adds to the sense of antagonism towards other Muslim countries that prevents alliances. On the ground we’ve seen how the whole Axis of Resistance consisted almost entirely of Shia groups.

On the other hand, those Iranians who go away from Islam go in the direction of identifying as Persians. I’m sure there are tons of them in Iran.

I know those are controversial things to discuss. But if we’re going to improve things it’s better to look at everything. Sometimes an outsider can see things more clearly. My suggestion is to cultivate moderation.

I think you are vastly overestimating Russian or Chinese influence in Iranian decision making, which is next to none.
Next to none?
Is that why Araghchi went to visit Putin for the ceasefire?
Is that why Sergei Shoigu visited Iran after Israel's aggression against Iran a year ago to convince Iran not to respond to that?
Is that why Iran has not left the NPT yet? And we are still not making the bomb after the US has damaged our nuclear infrastructure?

Why you keep saying that China helping US to cripple Iran's economy, that not in China's interest, China at least consider Iran an important partner. That's what I am saying, China buys 90% of Iranian oil because others are scared of US sanctions but China couldn't care less. The economy and your trade with others including China fell short of the expectations over the years because Iran was under US, the West and the world at large sanctions. That's why Iran's economy couldn't grow. China initiated the 25 years economic deal with Iran in 2012, but Iran gov is not totally committed. So, don't blame your problems on China.
Because China and Russia passed 4 rounds of UN Security Council resolutions against us that put us under Chapter VII of the UN charter and destroyed our functioning economy. I'm sure we have discussed it thoroughly by now.

Iran's GDP as of 2025 is $340B while Saudi Arabia's GDP is $1.14B.

What kinda of data you using? If it is nominal GDP the saudis had over 1 trillion usd while iran around 400b?

Don´t know whether it is typo on your part or not

NK and Iran can jointly establish a museum for displaying Soviet and US antiques of airplanes lol Sorry bro I get your sarcasm
North Korea is Iranian partner in development of Iranian most powerful hypersonic technology, getting leverage for idf and their role is greater than Russia and China combined...

I expected that Russia would be behind Iranian next-level missile technology after Iranian support in the war with Ukraine, that was important for Russian prolonged ability to be cheap and active...

I can't see where is Russian contribution to anything for Iran...

There are normal ways for that, elections, voting for different platforms, but it should be full elaborated national doctrine with different postulates...losing touch with Hezbollah is, to be honest from my point of view, defeat of the doctrine that was established previous decades...

So Iran should decide if they are going to take corridor Tehran-Beirut with force, or will adopt a new reality on the field...

One door is closed to open another... Yemeni are proven tough player and useful partner...preserving and improving relations with them is adding new dimension to Iranian geopolitical dynamics...

But for now, this final war with Zionists is ultimate priority for entire Iran...
Voting changes nothing in our current political system. The Iranian political system is a democracy with strong elements of theocratic autocracy. Voting changes nothing in Iran.

We need something like a coup from within the system. We need someone like Xiaoping that opens up the country, if I'm writing the name correctly.

I was comparing the data from 2008 for both countries as the starting point of crippling sanctions.
In 2008, Saudi Arabia's nominal GDP was estimated to be $473.7 billion USD, according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Iran's nominal GDP at the time was $310B-$380B based on different sources.

You can fact check it on your own. It might be slightly different using different sources.

You made error in the 2025 IMF.. But it´s okay it is not that important

Oh, I see. Yes, I said $1.14B. I meant $1.14 trillion dollars obviously. I'll edit my post and fix that.

Done. Fixed it :)

Things are about to get even more interesting in the coming days.
The real question now: how many countries will vote for him?
Pakistan has already thrown its support behind him

Iranian system has space for reforms, for example if someone charismatic and skilled politician with good platform and popularity is new president, than silent revolution could be achieved relatively successful in the system itself...Khatami and Rouhani had plans for substantial reforms in Iranian system institutions and apparatus, but their concepts were unsuccessful objectively, nothing connected with Iranian politics...

To have new structural projects and doctrines, first they have be created, elaborated, discussed etc...

One of advantages of Iranian diversity is that coordination means more voices, more ideas and insights...

But under attack every system is forced to be conservative, and you can't expect develop of civil sector in abnormal conditions...

IR leaders are just stupid, that's all. Where else should Araghchi have gone to? Nominally we have a strategic partnership with them. I'm sure they did try to convince Iran not to strike back because they value "Israel" over Iran. IR has isolated itself, tried to have the best of both worlds, and refuses to leave NPT because they are stupid. It has nothing to do with Russia or China.

In two weeks time Gaza Ceasefire will happen which marks the end of the all hostilities in this flare-up and that is when he will get pushed by some elements in Europe and Pakistan. He even has friends in Syria who will back him if necessary
