Try separating the Synagogue/Evangelical church from the state in the U.S before you dream of separating the "Church and state in Iran. The Loser Pahlavis ( reza and mohamad reza) had separated "church from state' and we saw how that worked out!

The disaster is that Iran is still, since October 7, reacting and not taking the initiative. It's true that Iran is the weaker party, but Israel operates with a plan and the element of surprise, taking their time. When the enemy knows your limits and fears, they've already won half the battle before it even starts, especially with such a superiority in intelligence.

Israel has to take the initiative because it is a country without strategic depth, Iran is a different country. Not that I am trying to minimize the incompetence of the Iranian military, but the discussion of Iran attacking by surprise and taking the initiative is not necessary because the doctrine does not seem to fit into this symmetry aligned with its capabilities.

You just mapped out their plan for the future of Iran......now start thinking of ways to stop it.
They want to turn us into Syria, not N. Korea.....N. Korea is still a functioning state. Syria will be a failed state for decades to come.
Iran will be a huge failed state.....they will try to break us up into at least 3 pieces. Baloch, Kurds and Arab partitions. We need to stop this from happening, we cannot give them the choice to break up the oldest country in the history of the world.....(yes, the oldest, look it up).

Syria is the more realistic comparison. The only way this stops is if a strong aggressive leader emerges and takes control. Khamenei is too stubborn to ever back down or abandon his fatwa, he’ll drag Iran with him to his grave rather than lose face. The rest of the leadership is either busy lining their own pockets or living in Lala land, thinking they can make some deal with the US and everything will turn into rainbows and sunshine.

Syria is the more realistic comparison. The only way this stops is if a strong aggressive leader emerges and takes control. Khamenei is too stubborn to ever back down or abandon his fatwa, he’ll drag Iran with him to his grave rather than lose face. I don't think some "fatwa" is the reason for Iran not building nuclear weapons.

I know....you guys think this is weak.....no! This is smart....let's play nice with our enemies, let them think we are not a threat....and then use a page out of the Israeli playbook, and hit them with plausible deniability.
Another thing, Iran needed the ceasefire, as much as anyone....if the war had escalated it may have drawn in the US in, full on, then what? We did the smart thing....we are not ready for a full scale war against both the US and Israel.
We need this time to quickly rebuild.....to win, is to drag out the war and outlast the enemy's will to fight.

conversely, bigger countries should act accordingly and not be bullied by small countries

USA does not hesitate to invade and attack small countries pre-emptively

Democracy is just a way for foreigners to influence your government. No western country is actually a democracy. They just want you to be one so they can promote candidates that will serve their interests.
