Persian Gulf
INT'L MOD
a few good targets were hit, Haifa refinery, Unit 8200 buildings, MoD HQ, Weizmann Institute, probably a good number of censored hits at air bases. and thousands of homes destroyed as you mentioned. but you're right, not a strong return for the number of missiles fired. The only point you made that could be seriously considered is the missile aspect. But Im not even sure they view that as a real threat. Out of 500–600 missiles...30 or 40 hit, destroyed some neighborhood blocks but other than that? Was any high value target destroyed? Anything that would actually make Israel shake in its boots?
on the other hand, Israel successfully suppressed fire from all western SSM bases (at least 20 such bases were thoroughly hit, damaging almost all above ground buildings and temporarily disabling the entrances), so Iran was forced to fire older missiles from central bases.
perhaps the results would be better/different if Iran could have used its newer missiles in the major SSM bases in the West of the country.
the benefit of Israel blocking these bases so early in the war is that these missile stockpiles and TELs are still there under the mountains waiting to be accessed again.
