>> Hopefully they also put a system next to it to defend it from SEAD strikes too. Did Azerbijan allow Israel to launch strikes from its terrority towards Iran ??

It has not been officialy confirmed by Iran or Baku that they launched projectiles from Baku

It is based on rumors, speculation and analysis of people and some proofs

Nonetheless radars and AD are much needed in the north west, Baku once launched drones that flew some distance inside Iranian airspace before shooting it down, with the excuse of a "drone malfunctioning",

Hi I have been lurking here for about a year but never commented before. I was wondering if all the articles claiming Israel took out all our s300’s are real or ficticous? I noticed none were active in our recent wargames which leads me to question if the claims are indeed true.

If not, why didn’t Iran parade them around to debunk the claims?

Seems that S300PMU2 are deployed in sensible áreas, like Tehran, Mehrabad and Isfahan, with the third one in reserve or protecting VIP members of government. That's the reason they we re not employed in Great Prophet 19 wargames that have been celebrated in Fordow and other nuclear sites (Natanz).

It’s quite possible that Israel was successful in hitting at least one or two fire control radars for S-300.

We’d expect Russia to replace them soon.

We have not seen any evidence of damage to even one S300. displacement is normal in mobile defense sites.

Thank you for the response, I know Israel lies a lot, it’s just every major news headline has been repeating this, I wanted to confirm here.

if they can increase engagement altitude to 50,000-60,000 ft then it really will be a MALE/HALE drone killer

It is probably made before. American and Israeli drones in Lebanon and Yemen are destroyed with this technology
although Yemen has shot down around 13 US drones and Hezbollah around 6 Israeli drones, Israeli drones and US drones still fly over Yemen and Lebanon daily without being shot down

It’s fine as it is.

MALE drones don’t go higher than 35,000 at best and many operate much lower due to sensors. So this missile is for that class of drones and lower.

HALE is irrelevant, not that many countries operate HALEs in large numbers. HALE is mostly used for recon and SIGINT.

Increasing altitude to that part would require much stronger engine which would require burning alot more fuel to climb (and quickly) and almost certainly reduce your range to less than 20KM and endurance time in the air. Not to mention make the weapons platform much more expensive for little added utility.

Not many ground launched ADs or even A2A missiles can go to 60,000 feet without being costly.
