It depends on what you define your mission to be. Success in what sense? Did Iran's missiles penetrate Israeli air defenses? Yes, they did. Did they cause any significant damage? No, they didn't.You have to acknowledge the the attack came after Iran's public and successful (Penetrating Israeli ABMs in significant numbers on camera) there for Iran already knew that Israel was going to retaliate. The "whistle blower" did not disclose when the attack was coming and it was due to the diligence and professionalism of Iran's Air defense personnel that the attack was rendered ineffective. Despite Israel's claim that Iran's air defense had been destroyed, Iran's IADS remained operational throughout the attack.
So, if your mission was to demonstrate that you can penetrate Israeli air defenses, yes, it was a success. But that renders TP2 a complete failure because it is stupid to launch two massive strikes to achieve the same objective twice as TP1 had already demonstrated Iran's ability to penetrate Israeli air defenses.
TP2 failed to cause any sort of real damage to Israel, including the Nevatim Airbase where most of our missiles landed (36 missiles landed there, only 3 hit targets of potential value with limited damage).
The "whistle blower" told us about how Israel was going to execute their plan and gave us a time frame. This is the type of high-value intelligence that we will lack in real combat with the likes of the US.
I can use a counter-argument by saying that Iran (Hajizadeh) claimed 200+ US soldiers had been killed in the attack but a few weeks later, Salami claimed that Iran had mercy on the US soldiers and decided not to kill them. So, we went from 200+ killed in action to 0 fatalities, officially. After the Attack on Ain al Assad airbase in January 2020 the U.S claimed that no U.S personnel was harmed in the attack but later on they slowly started to reveal that U.S personnel had suffered concussions as a result of the attacks. The number of Injuries was over 130 that I remember. Do you honestly believe that Israel is reporting the truth when they say that none of their personnel was harmed in the attack?
I can also use another counter-argument about that pathetic propaganda call to CBS or C-Span where an IRGC troll claimed his son was at Ain Al-Assad and he was missing.
Nevertheless, what we know for sure is that 4 Iranian Army personnel have been killed in the Israeli attack. It is official and verified. As for Israeli casualties, neither Iran nor Israel have claimed any casualties in the attack, except for one Palestinian girl. So, there is no reason to believe otherwise.
