Attack weaponry has left AD far behind. Khinzal, P-800 Oniks/Brahmos, Fattah, Kheybar Shekan, Golden Horizon, Rocks, Blue Sparrow have not been kintelically intercepted despite being fired in wars or conflicts. Even if we go by one sided Ukrainian claim of shooting 5-10 % Khinzals, there exists zero evidence of other types ever been shot down.

Just deny the enemy real time surveillance of your assets and you are good to go.

Against US they are a liability in air and on ground. Semi-useful against armed to teeth middle military power Israel. Very useful in conjunction with IRGCASF against regional potential foes.

We cant hide from real time Sat-Nav Search n Track of US/NATO. They use Multi Sensor Target Identification using hundreds of spread out active n passive assets on ground, on sea, space. IRGCASF had to put ECCM on Etemad MaRVs to save them from US Sat-Jammers from above after TP1. Even a missile on TEL or aircraft on run way is known to them. The attack weapon then just have to reach Area of Attack.

For now my only hope is that SU, YAK, MIG fleet gets in action only after war with US/NATO+Israel happens or averted.

Russia is not going to deliver anything in large quantities until this current conflict with West is over. They did the same thing to Assad and Ghaddafi and Saddam, they withheld arms at the request of Israel and the West.

Assad desperately waited for Yak-130s and S-300s that never came. Putin gave some small quantities of T-90s and that’s about it. Nothing that could change the tide of the war outside his own Air Force doing bombing runs periodically.

India just signed a trade deal with US and pledged to cut Russian oil purchases to zero and buy more American oil. This is the problem with Western aligned countries, they bend the knee to Uncle Sam at the end of the day.

Ghaddafi was Russia’s biggest client state and they just fed him to wolves. Assad they only cared about their port, which they kept even after he was toppled. Venezuela, they didn’t bother helping enough to keep Maduro in power.

Hard to look at that history of behavior and think “this time is different”. They wouldn’t even repair Iran’s kilo subs with Iran sending it to Russia. Have they repaired or sent replacements for the S-300 targeting radars that were targeted by Israel?

I don’t consider a few helicopters and some glorified humvees as a strategic change of Russia military relations with Iran.

Russia has spent literally tens of thousands of soldiers just to keep away NATO.

But again. India is the best Russian customer not only about oil, also industrial products and trade in fertilizers and other products are key for Russian economy.

Finally with India purchasing western aircrafts (Rafale and C295 among others), Irán purchase of high end equipment It is one of the few meaningful military russian exports.

Because china doesn’t want to sell and your kind of behind it looks like reports are mostly true Iran is set to start receiving su 35 this year with the mi 28 helicopters it looks like Russia is finally starting to deliver slow or not

Strategic position is overstated. Iran is a competitor to Russia in oil and natural gas.

If Irán fails their security belt will be just broken. I am sure Russia won't like at all having at Mehrabad deployed B21 raiders.

U.S. has nuclear weapons stored in Turkey and a couple airbases. Surely one more base further away in Iran isn’t a big deal when it also has bases in Iraq, Jordan, Syria, etc.

Russia has spent literally tens of thousands of soldiers just to keep away NATO.

That’s because Putin kept trying to get the West to be its friend while it sacrificed countries that were actually willing to side with Russia like Ghaddafi, Iran, Saddam, Assad. Imagine if those countries still existed as they were how much more powerful Russia would be if it had countries that backed it on global stage.

But again. India is the best Russian customer not only about oil, also industrial products and trade in fertilizers and other products are key for Russian economy.

India’s ties with Russia might be weakened now with the recent trade deal. Russia cannot expect Modi and the Indian generals to seriously risk ties to the West over Russian energy and military ties.

Fact is, Russia’s key allies are basically down to Belarus and China. They sacrificed everyone else.
