Iranian Air Force (IRIAF/IRGC-ASF) | News and Discussions

Oligarchs might be doing pro-israel lobbying. There are many jews in the Kremlin.
Not just the oligarchs, Putin himself is a massive zio who actively helped "Israel" target their ally Assad.

Russia is in short of weapons and seek weapons from Iran and NK, they may not complete export orders in years, or deliver in a very low speed. Other countries’ orders have been delayed either, like T90s ordered by India.
Unfortunate, as the Su-35 will be even more obsolete and useless in a few years as it is now.

Idk if he’s a zio more than he’s an opportunist who will take advantage of any situation

only f-35?
its obsolete against latest upgrade of F-15 and f-16
Yes. Ukraine F16 has proved so.

In fact, as the first foreign customer, we discovered the incapability of Su35 years ago. Its Iris-E PESA claimed to have 400km detecting range was found to be a joke, nothing compared to our own. Its only advantage is large combat range which is useful for intercepting US P-3C and Japanese F15J without the risk to leak J20’s electronic features. We only bought 24, just to use up the Rubles in our hands and see how Sukhoi upgraded Flankers, and this has been our last order of Russian jets.

what part of latest generation was hard to understand ?

I think for Iran's vast Manufacturing potential , and Mechanical Engineering base, a national locally produced Jet Even 4.0 Generation would have been attainable goal

1980-2025 :
  • 45 Years is a long time period to not have a locally Manufactured fighter jet

If you can produce a Car , then you know to construct panels and body frame, and with copy of existing F-5 it is not hard to replicate the inner frame

The Helicopter Engine Program did Show
  • Iran can manufacture engines , which can push a heavy Helicopter body
Iran can manufacture engines for cruise missiles , which can travel vast distances

Iran can manufacture engines to power Drones

I would be curious to know if they actually built any fighter jets

Rumours of F-5 , re-engineering
Rumours of F-14 refurbishment
Rumours of Stealth Light Jet

We have not seen any indication they have produced 50-60 Locally produced light jets with Air to Air Missile

We should delete all the 174 Pages on this thread and only have 1 page , with hard proof or evidence that ok , something was produced locally or bought from outside

Seems to have F-5 Engine , Looks decent , light Fighter Jet
Two are used in fighter jet

F16 Block 50/ Engine
General Electric F110-GE-129
F-5 and Engine
(Reversed Engineered)
Comment
17,155 lbf (76.31 kN) thrust dry
29,500 lbf (131 kN) with afterburner
Two Engines in F-5 , Dry 7200 Lbf x Wet 10,000lbfSeems like 60% less power in the engines then F16
  • Empty weight: 18,900 lb (8,573 kg)
  • Gross weight: 26,500 lb (12,020 kg)
  • Max takeoff weight: 42,300 lb (19,187 kg)
  • Empty weight: 9,583 lb (4,347 kg)
  • Gross weight: 15,745 lb (7,142 kg) clean
  • Max takeoff weight: 24,675 lb (11,192 kg)
While F16 has better engine but it is also "Heavier" , the F-5 engine may have less power but it is also pushing a lighter fighter jet , less energy is needed

Still pretty decent to mass produce 100 Jets

Drone Engine (Reverse Engineered)
> Drone

RQ-17 SentenialF16 Block 50Comment
Length: 14 ft 9 in (4.5 m)
Wingspan: 38 ft 7 in (11.58 m)
Height: 6 ft (1.8 m) estimated
Length: 49 ft 5 in (15.06 m)
Wingspan: 32 ft 8 in (9.96 m)
Wing area: 300 sq ft (28 m2)
Quite week on Thrust /Performance but also pushing a much lighter plane
Thrust
Maximum thrust: 1,846 lbf
(8.21 kN)
17,155 lbf (76.31 kN) thrust dry
29,500 lbf (131 kN) with afterburner
Max speed
950 km/h

Sentenial Engine , already reversed Engineered

One of two is iran's version while other is original US Drone one

While the Engines are not top of line should not stop Iran to produce
  • 100+ F-5 Clones, 2 BVR missiles
  • 100+ RQ-17 Sentinel Drone Clones
    • Stealth Missions only
    • Gravity Bomb Delivery to Specific targets

In theory it is possible to build a force with the existing technology they have without even considering the arrival of Sukhoi Jets

Just that we can't visually see 100+ planes produced in Iran it's all (could be , or may be)

Iran supports Russia materially in their internationally unpopular war against their number. They refuse to deliver their already obsolete jet to you while offering full ToT of their more advanced fighters to other countries and their president also says you shouldn't have nukes. These are the genius decision makers in power in Iran.

bunch of old descion maker surrounded themselves with a lot more , khaye mal ...

Why is Iran so reluctant to buy its airplanes from China ? It could also buy the JF17 from Pakistan which is better than the ancient Phantoms and F14s that are still being flown by Iran Air Force.

If Iran is thinking Chinese/Pakistani stuff is junk, that view has been proven incorrect now.
