Iranian Missiles | News and Discussions

How did Mousavi manage to survive ? Was he never targeted by the Israelis ?

Case of anybody's guess but I think Israel believed it would be a shock operation where it will cripple the top command and forces will crumble from inside within few hours. In contrast, the repeated reciprocating strikes by IRGC stretched over 12 days, esp the ones that came as successful retaliations on Bazan oil field, Gav Tech park, Weizmann institute etc and later in neighborhoods may have pushed Israel to halt for one reason. Their operation failed to meet the goasl ... They kill one commander and another 5 emerge from the shadows with same experience/training. IRGCASF refused to be deterred from their commander's death, kept on pounding Israel so what did the Israeli campaign actually achieve for them? An even more emboldened, war proven/experienced force with thrice the budget, their aura of invincibility is shattered, IRI still stands, half a ton HEU is in Iran, missile sites are back and even more in numbers now, nuclear program still running without IAEA monitoring. Israel killed civilians, congratulations even disgruntled Iranians rallied stupid Ayatollahs.

IRI is a shit show of incompetent islamo-marxists zealots but Israel failed miserably IMO in this war. They showed their weaknesses massively without achieving anything in grand scheme.

Erm...

They didn't strike Iranian nuclear reactors....it seems to have been an unwritten rule.

I'm sure there would have been a reciprocal response...

Correct. Israel kinda nodded in front of entire world that it respects deterrence showed by enemy. I posted two cases above where they got adventurous but backed out after getting hits from IRGCASF. This is why I believe campaign was a disaster for them. IRI has its huge faults but Israeli war doctrine messed up pretty bad.

It’s not for civilian use would have been shutdown unless the Israelis were truly suicidal fair game in my books but yeah there were many other sites that could have been struck the idea of things being reciprocal is a bit of joke the Israelis bombed civilian areas first water gas etc Iranians responded to those

From purely technical POV, seemed liked Israelis learned by day 5-6 of war that they were achieving nothing out of this. They did not escalate and left.

If Israel does attack Iran again, then I hope we see more use of Irans cruise missiles against Israel. That will use up IDF airforce time trying to track them down and shoot them which means that they can do fewer operations against Iran.

( It is fair to say that Israel got the drop on Iran, and Iran never expected to fight a real war and most certainly was not prepared for it. Lessons will have been learnt and acted on by now I am sure ).

I wonder if we will see supersonic cruise missile in my lifetime

Moghtedar/Eghtedar was that, they showed its test I guess with pressurized canisters (supersonic launch marker) but it vanished from the scene. Are they being secretive about its existence or project got abandoned is beyond me.

Microcruise missile with such range is a good step but LACMs have zero space in Iran-Israel theatre because of such long distance in between. ALCM dropped over western iraq or syria is another case but who would do that if Fattah or KS can do the job.

Again to be fair yes Israel got the drop on Iran but the war would have been entirely different if coalition forces didn’t intervene on the behalf of Israel from the Iranian retaliation(for people who get upset the hypothetical Arab forces that also assisted as well) especially the last few days of the war even though Irans firing rate had decreased we saw a lot more direct hits on Israel it showed Israel and coalition air defenses were nearly depleted as reports came out afterwards Americas stockpile of thaad still may not have fully been replenished till this day

Very small and compact for groups near Israel though and would seem to be easier to smuggle in to a country in parts than to reassemble sometimes i Iran shows its cards to much

Its good for UCAVs and light CAP fighter like local F-5 derivatives for CAS role. We probably are focusing on Israel too much, neglecting actual regional threats.

they never said that was supersonic

There is an article out today, saying Israel will try to attack Iran in 2026.....I hope they do, because I want us to unleash on these criminal pigs in a big way.
We need to get ready for battle......the next 3 yrs is the danger time line for us, as long as Trump is in power, he will give the zios support....once he's out of office, I think we will see a big shift in the US-Israel relations. In the meantime we have to stay alert. They have shown their hands, they will use ABLM and drones, they will use the MEK stooges inside Iran. This time there is no excuse not to develop plans to counter that.
Also, we need to secure the border and prepare something that they're not able to be ready for. They're vulnerable to multi prong attacks, we need to exploit that, Mainland Iran, Lebanon, and Yemen. We need to also think about Syrian territory, how? I don't know....but the next time these guys want to mow the lawn in our land we have to make sure the lawn mower malfunctions and cuts off the driver's limbs.
