I have said this before but let me restate it.

India will become a semi-influential country by 2050 as it has a stable government system and there are some real 'quality" states in India like Gujarat and the southern states where hard work and education are valued.

However it will never rise to become anything like what USA is now or China will become soon, as it will taper off at high "middle-income" level as half(BIMARU etc) the country will always drag down the other half.

Due to potential formation of "Muslim block" over the next 1-2 decades it may end up feeling "boxed in" by Pakistan in the west and BD in the east. Add China(who Muslims may have an "understanding" with) and it will just have to realise that it needs to just mind its own business and forget any ideas of "dominance" in S Asia, let alone power projection in the wider Indian Ocean region.

High middle income of $10,000 for 1 billion people with the other 1 billion in some level of poverty is a $15 trillion economy - on par with current China

I did not realise just how much India has changed since 2014

Well on their way to becoming the third most important country on the planet

Look at the infrastructure mannnn wow

India no doubt economical superpower of asia and with the economy set to take 3rd largest economy position no doubt India will become world economic superpower very soon.....

With such an economy importance comes automatically and hence you are right to say India is on the way to become 3rd most important country.....

It's mostly just a issue of massive overwhelming population

The vast majority of indians are poor, their is massive inequality, caste system, communalism

But add up all the wealth of indians regardless of how poor the majority are and you end up in the top 5

It's just how it is,

India for all it's mess, at least has a stable-ish government system and that in of itself has sparked development

But showing a couple of pictures of some buildings or some infrastructure is pointless, you can do that with any nation in the world


India will indeed grow
But then it's growth will slow down and it will level out and their is a question mark over whether they can actually produce enough jobs for its massive population

Pakistan itself is underdeveloped, and hindered by its political situation, if it resolves that then their will be quick development
Because it's population is young, it has 240 million people and hasn't used its resources or even properly focused it's economy on fulfilling domestic need let alone exports


India will remain a regional power that it's region feels threatened by, anything above that is delusions of grandeur by India
But these delusions are dangers especially with hindutva in the government

well India had a slow start no dought and massive baggage of socialism till 1990s which was like carrying a 50Kg stone chained to your ankle and still trying to cross the finishing line when your compition is having all kinds of AID as they are favrates with west & USA for almost 45 years

but despite all that ignorance , curruption , inequality , injustice , infighting and constant irritation by a ever agressive naigbour that inflictited three wars on us we are now poised to become a world power weather you like it or not while your nation is begging from USA to UK to UAE to Saudi Arabia to Turkiye to even nations like malasiya , indonasia and even central asian republics

and your current PM has openly said comments like

India is already highly regarded in the world be it Europe USA Russia south east Asian and especially Arab states like UAE
India has serious credibility and every ounce of this comes from economic power and huge trade potential.

Not one ounce comes from attaining nuclear weapons or having powerful military potential

It's all about economic power gdp power
