Islamabad trees have been cut for housing society

Chinar normally grows on high altitude. Right ?

Not necessarily. It needs riverine and temperate settings, which happen to be higher up in South Asia, hence the perception. Much like conifers.

Yep, traditionally that is what I have observed. Colder region. However, I have seen young healthy chinar in Islamabad (the weather in Islamabad is proper summers, cold in winters and humid monsoon).

Might wanna say something about KPK govt which is doing it on much bigger level. Highest deforestation rate in south asia.

I am trying to understand as to what are you trying to say. You are moaning about one institution failing to get hold of the timber mafia, while you siding with that institution which is actively and deliberately destroying the trees on this occasion? Maybe you want to pay attention to billion tress tsunami initiative as well while you are at it.

- Deforestation is a fact
- Happens under kpk civilian govt
- kpk parliament approved 6 million tree cut not long ago

Yeah army is bad, we know.

I am not quite sure about this. Older residents of Karachi seem to remember much more greenery (they used the word 'jungle') in North Nazimabad, for example.

I wont call it a jungle but rather a lots of random kikar and roadside eucalyptus trees. People however in old days grow a lot of exotic plants within their gardens. There was a small town called hussian de salva town next to pahar ganj. Beautiful clean full of exotic trees and what not, now i believe is a ghost town.

Ok so what happened to Million tree tsunami? Becuase I presonally know lots of individuals who went about and plant trees, in the abomination which it has become on the mother earth, aka karachi.

Million tsunami tree was a great initiative by Imran khan. I am not sure what are you referring to in karachi? Is army stopping people from planting trees in karachi?

Since you seems upset with IK party performance in protecting trees, I asked your views about billion tree tsunami initiative from the same party. Glad you are atleadt happy with that.

Now we have put that to rest, what similar initiatives are launched by any other party/institution including army?

Plant for pakistan led by pmln
Punjab horticulture act by pmln in Punjab.

There is a reason why Punjab isnt facing a deforestation rate as high as Kpk because it was never sanctioned by the reigning political party.
