INT'L MOD
the leverage I just explained. this is Trump's ceasefire and he is personally invested in retaining it. so when Israel commits a major violation, there is some space for Hamas to respond and then ask the mediators to say this was their response to Israel's violation and they want to return to Trump's ceasefire. suddenly they care about the consequences? What leverage? Look at the devastation in Gaza, the genocide, and forced starvation. They want any reason to blame Hamas and restart it.
"pretty easily" is a bit harsh, but don't disagree with the rest. Both Lebanon and Gaza are in bad shape. The difference though is that Hamas did all it could. Gaza was under siege for years while Lebanon had an open supply line from Syria. Everything Hezbollah stock piled was for nothing. They hesitated and lost their deterrence.
Hezbollah folded pretty easily and I don’t blame them. They don’t want their people to suffer the same fate as the people of Gaza from this genocidal state. Hezbollah also had very bad intelligence failures and were very compromised unlike Hamas in Gaza.
