Israel obstructing search for Hezbollah's Safieddine, terror group official says

Safieddine is seen as a likely successor to former leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah who was killed in an Israeli strike on Beirut's southern suburbs.

Israel is obstructing search and rescue efforts in an area where senior Hezbollah leader Hashem Safieddine is thought to have been when Israel bombed Beirut's southern suburbs on Thursday, a Hezbollah official said.

Safieddine is seen as a likely successor to former leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah who was killed in an Israeli strike on Beirut's southern suburbs, known as Dahiyeh, on September 27.

His fate remains unclear.

Iran's Quds Force official also missing

The senior Hezbollah political official, Mahmolud Qmati, also said he had no information on reports that the leader of Iran's elite Quds Force Esmail Qaani has not been heard from since the strikes on Beirut late last week.

Israel should "let rescue teams do their work," he told Iraqi state television.

Qmati said that Hezbollah was now being jointly led until it could pick a new leader, which would take time.

"What's important is that joint command is in place," he said.

"The method of choosing a replacement for the secretary-general takes time and requires appropriate circumstances, and for that reason we suffice today with temporary joint command," he said.

Qmati said Nasrallah's body remained in Lebanon and that he would be laid to rest in Beirut's southern suburbs, where Hezbollah holds heavy influence, when conditions allowed.

Israel has killed much of Hezbollah's military command and senior leadership in nearly a year of fighting that began when Hezbollah opened a front in solidarity with Palestinians the day after Hamas' October 7 attack on Israel.

The conflict has rapidly expanded in the past couple of weeks, with Israel snubbing a US-backed push for a ceasefire, killing Nasrallah and launching a wide air campaign that has pummeled Lebanese towns and villages and left 1.2 million people displaced, according to Lebanese government figures.

Esmail Qaani missing: Did Israel kill Soleimani's successor in Beirut?

Qaani may have been wounded in the strike that targeted Hassan Nasrallah's presumed successor, according to N12.

By JERUSALEM POST STAFFOCTOBER 6, 2024 10:38Updated: OCTOBER 6, 2024 21:31

Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force Brigadier-General Esmail Qaani's whereabouts are not currently known, according to a New York Times report, citing Iranian media.

According to the Israeli N12 on Saturday, the Iranian brigadier-general may have been wounded in the Israeli strike that targeted Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah's presumed successor, Hashem Safieddine, in southern Beirut.

The NYT report cited local media as saying that officials in Iran had no clear answers yet regarding what may have occurred to the Quds Force chief.

Two days after Israel eliminated Nasrallah, Qaani was seen in Hezbollah's Tehran offices. However, he was not present at the Friday commemoration of Hezbollah's chief led by Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Qaani in Beirut

However, according to the NYT report, citing three Iranian sources, Qaani had traveled to Beirut to convene with Hezbollah officials amid the Israeli strikes on the terror organization.

An IRGC member said, according to the NYT report, that Iranian officials' muteness on the subject was spreading panic among the IRGC members.

Later on Sunday, Army Radio reported, citing local Iranian reports, that Qaani would conduct an interview later in the day.

Two Iranian security officials confirmed to Rueters on Sunday that Qaani hasn't been heard from since last week.

One of the officials said Qaani was in Beirut's southern suburbs, known as the Dahiyeh, during a strike on Thursday that was reported to have targeted senior Hezbollah official Hashem Safieddine but the official said he was not meeting Safieddine.

The official said Iran and Hezbollah had not been able to contact Qaani since then.

The second official also said Qaani had traveled to Lebanon after the killing of Nasrallah and the Iranian authorities had not been able to contact him since the strike against Safieddine, who was widely expected to be the next Hezbollah chief.

Hezbollah has made no comment so far on Safieddine.

The Quds Force, the overseas arm of Iran's Revolutionary Guards, oversees dealings with terrorist militias allied with Tehran across the Middle East, such as Hezbollah.

Senior Qatari diplomat to 'Post': We never communicated with Sinwar – exclusive

Senior Qatari diplomat tells the 'Post' that the Gulf state never communicated with Sinwar, and it hasn't recently met with Israeli hostage families.

By ZVIKA KLEIN, JERUSALEM POST STAFFOCTOBER 6, 2024 19:43Updated: OCTOBER 6, 2024 20:49

A senior Qatari diplomat has denied claims of direct communication with Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar and stated that Qatar's mediation team has not met with the families of hostages held by Hamas.

Speaking exclusively to The Jerusalem Post, the diplomat clarified that all mediation efforts are conducted exclusively through representatives from Hamas's political office in Doha.

"Khalil Al-Hayah has been leading negotiations on behalf of Hamas since day one," the diplomat stated, emphasizing that Sinwar has never been involved in direct talks.

Khalil al-Hayah is a senior Hamas political figure. He has been heavily involved in the terrorist organization's diplomatic efforts, often representing it in ceasefire talks and other negotiations. According to the Qatari diplomat, Al-Hayah has led the discussions with external mediators throughout the current hostage crisis.

Haniyeh's role

"Haniyeh was involved in previous negotiations, but it was always Al-Hayah who managed the technical side of things," the diplomat said regarding Hamas's former political bureau chief.

Ismail Haniyeh, a senior Hamas leader, had a significant influence on the group before his assasination during a visit to Tehran in July 2024. Although Haniyeh once held a prominent position, his role in negotiations that occurred before his death had been largely limited.

The Qatari diplomat stressed that no member of Qatar's mediation team had made such a statement to the hostages' families. "None of the Qatari mediation team members have had a meeting with the hostages' family members, neither this week nor last week," the official said, addressing the N12 report that suggested Sinwar had ceased communications and was hiding among hostages.

"What was mentioned in the article is simply not true."

Your post is loaded and a prime example of what Indians bring to the table on this thread.
You are able to talk about Hamas and supporting a terror group is the actual root cause of the ignorance Indians show.
Firstly Hamas wouldn’t actually exist if Israel didn’t occupy Palestinian land illegally with their settlements. Hamas thrive as a resistance group to counter the terror rape and killings of innocent over the last 70 years. Indians like yourself think it all started on the 7th October - it didn’t - educate yourself.
What happened on the 7th was wrong no doubt but it is understandable when constantly children and women are being killed by snipers - there is an apartheid state where if you are Muslim - you have limitations on food etc - eventually the victim fights back and then the bully cries murder.
The Palestinian people have subsequently been decimated and you don’t mention anything. Israel have raped killed committed genocide war crimes but you want us to focus on anything but that?
They are the international terrorist and if Netanyahu lands in the UK - he will be arrested.
Now stop trying to be cute and pretending to have Muslim friends etc - you are a cheer leader and you simply can’t hide it.
NO, in case I didn't make it clear, this is the final post in the conversation.

Here, fundamental distinctions are the issue. We do not call such groups freedom fighters or engage in jihad when they murder innocent people, nor do we support them in any nation. It doesn't matter if the problem has existed for decades.

One such example is that we and our mainstream media label anyone who kills an innocent Pakistani and is attacked by armed individuals as a "terrorist." Give me an instance when the media refers to them as freedom fighters or as carrying out JIhad (it doesn't matter if they are Baloch; the dispute between Baloch and Pakistan dates back more than 70 years;

as we are dealing with the same problems if terrorists kill innocent Indians. Some have dubbed these terrorists "Freedom Fighters" and said they are waging jihad, but we don't refer to anyone from any country who kill innocent people as freedom fighters.

and about Israel and Palestine Issues -

It was our first statement at the UN: 1947

India
(Vote: Against): Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru spoke with anger and contempt for the way the UN vote had been lined up. He said the Zionists had tried to bribe India with millions and at the same time his sister, Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit, the Indian ambassador to the UN, had received daily warnings that her life was in danger unless "she voted right"

It was our last statement at the UN:

India votes in favor of UN membership for Palestine amid Israel-Hamas war in Gaza

The United Nations backed a Palestinian bid for membership on Friday with 143 countries — including India — voting for recognition. Nine countries including the US and Israel voted against the resolution while another 25 abstained. The UN General Assembly also called for the UN Security Council to “reconsider the matter favorably” after the US vetoed a similar move last month.
"I have stood hundreds of times before at this podium, but never for a more significant vote than the one about to take place, an historic one," Palestinian ambassador to the UN Riyad Mansour said before the vote, his voice full of emotion.

Again, it's not about religion but fundamental differences, We don't support such militia groups who casing terror activity across the globe.

The Rhetoric has intensified for more Pro Israeli stories in News paper lately

It seems internally in USA there is a very harsh , awakening against the Zionist mindset at ground level

They are trying very hard to put the Zionist friendly stories in main page center spot and shoving actual Genocide of Palestinians on side smaller areas or sub pages

The Big Story
The French Snub for Israel was quite a big story , since Israel also Bombed french owned Gas station in Lebanon

Israeli media: All attempts to intercept the missiles launched at Haifa failed

The problem is that this information comes from the Anglo-American Zionist media, so we can consider it is nothing more than a bunch of disinformation based on war propaganda.

- There is no genocide
- 40 beheaded babies
- Hezbollah was destroyed in 1 week
- The military of Iran, Hezbollah, Syria are all fleeing in fear.
- 99% of missiles were shot down by "israel"
- Iran bombed vacant land to put on a pyrotechnic show and nothing in "Israel" was hit.
- " Iranian officials" talking to Reuters
- Ayatollah are fleeing from Iran.

Look, Even a 5-year-old child can tell this is all a lie and it's difficult for an adult to even take into consideration all this crap information, you can even see that they are a little desperate to spread a narrative and make people abandon the Palestinian cause.

NOTE: Regarding non-communication between officers , this is normal in a war scenario when one suspects infiltrated spies or people being bribed to talk.
