JF-17 PFX program

Can you also tell us what is the objective of PFX? Is it jf17 blk 4? And when can we see it entering production of service (if ever).
I may only add to your confusion because I don't know the exact details myself. From what I can gather, I reckon it is a semi-stealth 4.5 gen aircraft, heavier than JF-17. So, It will be in medium weight category like J-10, probably single engine. So even if it is a block 4 based mainly on JF design, it will definitely be bigger in size.

For me, indigenous engine is more important than an aircraft because whatever aircraft we design, a new one or a heavier Thunder version, we need sanction-proof engine. Ideal is if we can make our own but let's be real about it. Most probably, we will use a Chinese engine.

Our engineers are learning from KAAN project so the expertise for 5th gen will increase too. These are stepping stones to improve our aerospace industry.

About production for service, I think we may have to wait for more details but I don't expect it before 2030. We have to spend money on acquisitions too like air defense systems, J-35, EW assets etc., not to mention the V-kits if we decide to upgrade F-16. So I think for the next 4-5 years, the major chunk will be spent on new aircraft or upgradations.

It's not unlikely that PAF will eventually operate two 5th-generation aircraft. KAAN might come eventually.
Or possibly a system that incorporates technology from both a highly customized J-35 and Turkish-developed tech.

I do think that PAF will operate both KAAN and the J35 where the KAAN will bring in the range that PAF desires, and the J35 will be for a fleetwide replacement of the F16 fleet. I don't see JF17-PFX maturing to anymore more than a Block 4 variant with new weapons, and systems but no(or very minor) airframe changes to accommodate those new systems.

j 35 with source code is it possible?
You don't need the source code from China; you just need to convince China to integrate a custom-designed, fuselage-integrated communication device into the J-35. This device, which is difficult to suppress and detect, and is integrated into the fuselage (not in pod form), will provide communication between the pilot and the KE swarm. Turkey will allow you to integrate domestic bombs and missiles into the KE. You can launch Chinese missiles via the J-35. The J-35 and its accompanying KE swarm will form the basis of a very effective air force.

Not feaseable at all.

Many Pakistani insiders are talking about PFX, a medium weight plane, where paf can induct own weaponary, radar, missiles etc, the plan is real but looks like a big challenge, the same as project AZM. J35s will definitely come, and Kaan will be in full production around 2035 time, so we can get a few squadrons around 2040+ time to replace F16s.

Lastly which future planes will be allowed to carry nuclear weapons. J10CEs, Kaans, J35s, will China Turkey allow us.

People in Pakistan can talk all they want. What these people don't realize is that Pakistan does not have the people, the infrastructure, the institutions, the intellectual property, or advantage of experience to do "PFX" as some have described as a new airframe, or extensive airframe revisions.

The PFX programme may develop a Block IV variant of the JF17 and it will stop shortly after that, due to limitations of Pakistan's aerospace capabilities, I am convinced of this, regardless of the "need" to have all as many have mentioned.

Block 2s and 2Bs were built from ground up for upgrades with strengthened wings but not block 1s. If anything they'll require major restructuring and strengthening of wings and airframe to accommodate block 3 capability. Can be done but will expensive.

Almost half of the 2Bs may house aesa and pl15 wingtip rails.
PL15 weight class missile can be carried on wing tips of BLK II Bs and BLK IIIs?

Honestly i dont really know what pfx is gonna be but my hope is its actually a joint china pak next gen single engine domestically produced medium weight fighter with a ws-15 or ws-10 based engine and iwb and same size profile as j-10. Much like a chinese version of su-75. Likely impossible but to me it's the most logical next gen solution that can be produced more economically feasibly at PAC whilst providing lots of useful capability. Likely the pfx project wont progress much farther than jf-17 blk 4 with reduced rcs unfortunately
