But why go for shahpar 2 when shahpar 3 is close to entering service. I do not know delivery and service timelines myself but wouldnt it be better for the iraqis to wait longer instead

S3 is not close to entering service at all its still atleast 2-3 years out

A “friendly country” signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to procure Pakistan’s JF-17 fighter aircraft that drew “significant attention from defence analysts” during the Dubai Airshow 2025, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.

JF-17 Thunder is an advanced, light-weight, all weather, day/night multi-role fighter aircraft; developed as a joint venture between Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC), Kamra and Chengdu Aircraft Industry Corporation (CAC) of China.

“During the event, the JF-17 Thunder Block-III emerged as a major focal point, drawing significant attention from defence analysts, aviation specialists and visitors,” the ISPR said.

PAF has ALWAYS scored more kills over india in ALL the wars. PAF's trainings, standards are built over several decades.

Any airforce's standard SOP is to target enemy which is striking missiles into their country. Our pilots would have done this job regardless of who's the CAS. Their decades of trainings, protocols allow them to do their job.

As far as your comment is concerned, do Indian General of 1971 also is a god in India with his murti in mandirs? If not, then I am sure, shooting down half of our kill score would not have iaf's CAS nungi murti in every mandir.

Very strong indications that BAF is close to signing or have already signed the MoU for up to 24 blk 3A and 3Bs. A huge buzz around PAF and thunder at DAS 25.

I really hope its bangladesh and not iraq. If for one of many reasons being i do not wish to see them destroyed by Israel in any attack. If geopolitical situation in middle east calms down further we should go ahead with the sale but right now countering india must be our greatest priority and effectively arming the BAF is the best way to make our detterent against further aggression

iraq are not a threat for israel rn , i don't see Israel attacking iraq . israel might even be happy since iraq can now fight iran or maybe help in shooting drones from iran . also i dont see iraq making a move unless it has been okayed by US .

in the end if you are that over protective of your products then don't sell them .

I believe the most tangible benifits will be spreading out development and production costs for JFT across more airframes. But yes most of this money will not be put to meaningful use and mismanaged
