Since we are expecting another foreign order for the JF-17 Block-III, an important question arises about whether Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) will add an additional production line to meet increased demand. Currently, PAC’s production capacity has been estimated between 16 to 20 aircraft per year, with ongoing deliveries to fulfil existing contracts and domestic requirements. Azerbaijan has already signed a major deal for up to 40 Block-III fighters, making it the largest export customer to date, and deliveries of initial aircraft have begun. In addition, a Libyan National Army agreement reportedly includes 16 JF-17 Block-III jets, further expanding export commitments. With other potential customers showing interest, expanding production capacity through an additional line could be essential to meet export orders while ensuring the Pakistan Air Force’s own fleet modernisation and delivery timelines are maintained.
