Can we export HGU55 helmets or are these one of those new generation panda helmets compatible with HMDS? I doubt it's the latter.

They likely got them directly from the US. Some sanctions/restrictions have been lifted. They're also buying Leonardo M-346 trainers from the Italians (which use Honeywell engines).

If Azerbaijan's getting the Chinese HMD/S, then the base helmet for those is actually made custom for the pilot. So, if anything, those are probably on order direct from China as more Azeri pilots qualify for the system. IIRC it's similar with the Aselsan TULGAR if they're going with the Turkish HMD/S.
