'Kicked him to the curb': How Elon Musk forced Vivek Ramaswamy out of DOGE

@r3alist

no reason it should go to anyone other than an American, you can't surely say h1b guys should get these jobs...

So explain why US corporates are giving these jobs to headbobbing H1B Indians and not American whites? Surely not because some of the senior managers are nepotist Indians. The owners of these firms are all white or white controlled MFs/PEs/VCs and if are you saying that they will accept the recommendations of their Indian managers to recruit incompetent Indian workers, well there is a white monument in Agra that I could sell you.

Regards

@Developereo

Except that we have all these Americans saying the exact opposite: that they were fired and forced to train H1-B to replace them.

Of course, because the H1Bs are willing to work at lower wages and lower hours.

People have been saying this literally for decades. It is only getting mainstream media attention now.

Who told you that it is getting mainstream media attention now only? Check when the word Bangalored entered the vocabulary.

It's not about whites sir, Americans

But at this stage it's structural, we cannot solely say it's nepotism alone, though there is that accusation by some

Then you are right in that the top level corporate executive is a big enabler, as are the share holder's , so there is blame to share

Yet whilst this can be acknowledged by most on either side, it seems that no h1b advocate is willing to cede any point on the opposing arguments

We therefore have to believe every H1b is ethically and appropriately hired, that Indians are harder working than Americans, with more skills , productivity

That any disgruntled tech worker has only himself to blame that he is disgruntled

Then you are surprised there is a debate in the USA....

Of course, because the H1Bs are willing to work at lower wages and lower hours.

Some smaller, dodgy places might do this but name brand companies like Google, Microsoft, etc. would not. They will have the same compensation and working conditions for anyone regardless of their visa status.

@r3alist

it seems that no h1b advocate is willing to cede any point on the opposing arguments

Of course, I see that US tech workers will be aggrieved.

As far as the debate goes, given how polarised the society has become (thanks in no little part to SM) neither group (MAGAs or H1Bs) seems to be willing to concede any ground.

Regards

He is literally saying that Indians are better engineers than Americans.
Huh?

He said Foreign born and first generation.

How did you read "Indians" specifically in it? LOL! He did not even say the the term H1B, btw in that tweet.

You yourself admitted that American companies scour the globe for talent. When 77% of H1-B visas go to Indians, there is bias at work.

Indians are overrepresented in H1B population simply because they fit the bill..
1. Outside of US, India is the largest country of english speaker.
2. Indians do not have other visa options like E-2, E-3 and TN-1.
3. Indians are very willing to work in US. Many people from europe do not want to move there.
4. Indians were among the first to do mass outsourcing of software development work.

There is not as much bias at work here as the facts that you are ignoring.

Well sir, this is the crux, make the leap to a value judgement on who should be ceding the ground , to avoid the endless discussion

We know that since h1b is profitable then you can argue they have the most relevant points

But life and nations are not considerations on a balance sheet or share price

Soa are you willing to offer who has the primary claim, based on your own hierarchy of values

Except that we have all these Americans saying the exact opposite: that they were fired and forced to train H1-B to replace them.
Yeah. And no one is hiring them to make a new company to use their talents to disrupt existing deadwood filled companies. If they are so competent, then why dont YOU hire them and make a new company to disrupt the deadwood filled existing companies.

All BS.

@r3alist

No, I am not making a value judgement on who should have the first priority on the jobs. From a purely capitalist basis, there is an argument on why Indian H1Bs are getting the jobs. It has nothing to do with Indian managers promoting fellow Indians on racial grounds.

If they started a new company, Indians may insist on being given jobs and complain about discrimination 😇😉

I thought you were starting to be more grounded, then you say categorically.... Nothing to do with Indian hiring managers.

So indeed no ground ceded, all hiring at all times has been appropriate, proper with nothing unethical happening... We are back here again

Imagine this were happening in India, let's say, a chunk of corporate India was suddenly represented by Bangladeshis let's say, just imagine..... You would for sure have some value based judgment on this predicament

@r3alist

let's say, a chunk of corporate India was suddenly represented by Bangladeshis let's say,

There are lots of jobs in metro cities where immigrants (mainly undocumented) from BD and Nepal- watchmen, rickshawwallahs, maids- are heavily represented. It is not because there is a conspiracy to use them to replace native Indians, or because they are exceptionally talented in these professions but simply because they are willing to work for a pittance. Of course, my fellow bhakts say that it is a conspiracy to Islamise India (Nepalis immigrants being largely Hindu escape their wrath)

Well I said corporate India for a reason, to be somewhat comparable

What I am trying to get at is out of any group in the world Indians themselves would say they are amongst the most cultivating of their children's future

So are Americans just lazy slobs who happen to have silicon valley but cannot aspire to work there?

Do you refuse to empathize or are you unwilling to?

I am actually kind of impressed at the mental gymnastics going on to dissemble the obvious, that no way would Indians entertain ceding many well paid jobs to non Indians in the corporate world for decades, but also that apparently applies to the American job market too?

The magnificent 7, tech companies, will be the driver for s&p growth for years to come, it's a very attractive industry, with that will come scrutiny and competition, in the labour market, should it not be fair?

@r3alist

Who said that! Not me for sure. There are many many Americans who are working in top tech jobs in the Valley. I am sure a majority of the tech workers are American citizens. But many of the relatively low paid jobs have gone to Indian immigrants who are working at wages which native Americans are not likely to do.

Do you refuse to empathize or are you unwilling to?

Of course, I empathize. I am just referring to the financial compulsions of the employers.

that no way would Indians entertain ceding many well paid jobs to non Indians in the corporate world

India is one of the poorest countries in the world with low income levels. Where on Earth would you find educated, skilled people willing to emigrate to India to take up corporate jobs?
