A major victory for Hezbollah !!!
- Successful targeting of the #Spy_Balloon and the massive Israeli radar system known as "#Sky_Dew" (Sky Dew / #Tel_Shamayim).
Through an air assault carried out by Hezbollah using suicide drones, targeting the operational base for the balloon near "#Golan_Junction" west of the city of #Tiberias, which is about 35 kilometers from the Lebanese border.
~~~
Military significance:
This balloon (valued at around 230 million dollars) is one of the largest surveillance and reconnaissance balloons in the world, developed in Israeli-American cooperation to detect cruise missiles and drones flying at low altitudes and to blind Israeli surveillance capabilities in the northern region.
To me, "tactically", taking out a tank that they cannot easily replace is more valuable militarily than some random piece of conscript meat that they can easily backfill.
Money isn't an issue for Israel. USA can gladly pay for all the equipment IdF lose in wars. It is the dead soldiers that can be considered loss on israel side, to atleat common Israeli citizens.
I disagree. Taking out expensive military equipment reduces the ability of occupation forces to manoeuvre and capture more territory and hold on to land. Conscripts are two a penny and Netanyahu doesn’t care about conscripts.
