From a tactical analysis, it seems that the drones are being used to suppress the movement of IDF soldiers and provide intelligence on locations, and that is given the local forces more autonomy to move freely to be able to conduct this ATGM missions.

Israel historically responded to these defeats by mass bombings of civilians, and to some extent Iran has taken that option off the table for Israel for the time being. Israel is not in a good place tactically right now.
