Los Angeles Clashes between ICE and demonstrators, Trump sends in the National Guard.

LOL! Here's how your lovely China would likely treat somebody:

The problem is that China doesn't even allow this situation to take root. Undocumented people will be caught and returned to their countries of origin, without question.

The problem here is that we have had generations of US politicians who have looked the other way, Democrats to get a bigger voting base and Republicans to get cheap labor. So they've actually allowed migrants to enter illegally and enforcement of immigration laws have been very lax for decades.

Now, you have entire industries in the US that rely on this labor and generations of families that have taken root. To just expect to expel millions of people would basically be disastrous both socially and economically.

Why I wish this forum still had the "angry" emoji. Because, you are spot on and I've posted on it numerous times.

BOTH sides are complicit in this fiasco. BOTH sides.

Anything either side proposes is simply bukkake theater for the masses. They will do nothing. Because they both benefit.

I bet southern slaveholders said the same exact thing in their defense.

Again we should be solving issues instead of making excuses of being inconvenienced just to keep the status quo when we know it is wrong.

Honestly I think the most rational solution to this would be a combination of sticks and carrots. Very strong border control to stop the constant wave of migration, deportation of undocumented people who are recent and especially those with violent records but also a pathway to legal residency for people who are law abiding and have taken root here.

But given the unfortunate political climate, that isn’t going to happen. So you will have the right acting tough then this provokes these communities to protest, then you have thugs and criminals and Soros funded agitators jumping in to take advantage of the chaos.

This is why nothing ever gets solved in this country.

How about subsidizing the pay of these industries so unemployed US citizens can work for them instead of sitting at home watching TV while being "on the dole". Make it worthwhile.

Importing people is just kicking some can down the road. This can't go on forever.

You don't know the reason why they haven't applied, so assuming is not a good thing.

You're speculating.

Please -- if someone qualifies they will apply. The news of these things spreads like fire.

If you have a felony or someone kind of criminal conviction do not bother

Illegal immigrants do not qualify for Social Security and Medicare

Because 1. You don’t have enough workers that will do these menial jobs and not do them the way these workers are 2. A lot of the Americans who are unemployed honestly deal with a host of other issues like addiction, criminality, etc that automatically disqualifies them from being reliable workers to fill these roles.

I’m not saying that there are not any who can take these jobs but even if say, for every 100 undocumented aliens who are gone, you have 20 Americans come in to fill those positions, the 80 positions that are left unfilled or poorly filled still debilitate those industries.

Construction, agriculture, logistics and the restaurant industries would all basically come to a near standstill if all undocumented workers are gone.

Looks like a bunch of lazy-ass communists, opportunists, and anti-social types. The US should've deported them a long time ago. The way the US has been handling undocumented migrants is way too lenient. There are plenty of qualified, law-abiding migrants who've been waiting their turn to move there legally.

However I did felt that California State, and it's people perhaps wanted to follow a different path then Federal Authorities

I may not be correct but each state of USA can withdraw it self from Union

It is a bit unclear how the view of State of California Resident be in current circumstances but like most people I am just viewing the news as it unfolds

It seems like a very complex problem brewing in California
Not correct. The last time that was tried, those states got the beatdown of their lives.

California has been a mess since about the time Pete Wilson left office. Since then, progressive Democrat policies have pushed the state to be more like a socialist country than a state in the union.

Well meaning liberalism has proven time and again to be second cousin to tyranny.

In the early 2000s, I knew journeymen construction workers who couldn't find work BECAUSE of all the illegal labor being hired by the contractors.

Just about every crew for every trade in the PHX metro area building houses were mostly illegals.

Military recruitment comes from a similar class of people. They raised military pay because nobody wanted to do it.

You think people would rather get blown up in Iraq or Afghanistan by an IED?
