Makkah Defence Alliance: Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, news & updates

You are massively overestimating the leverage Pakistan had in Afghanistan, especially after the OBL episode. Also, the regime in power now were supposed to be the good Taliban and expected to be more friendly than the Ghani government that was backed by India.

And there is so comparison between the military situations in Junagadh, Hyderabad and Goa, which were cakewalke for the Indian army, and Kashmir , where Pakistan had to fight the Indian army.

Pakistan had MASSIVE leverage. The entire American supply line to Afghanistan where they spend $2.5 Trillion over 20 years are almost completely reliant on Pakistani airspace and Pakistani roads and ports to access. Afghanistan is landlocked and cannot be reached, unless someone goes through Iran, Pakistan or the Central Asian state, which requires Russia anyways. Put simply any geopolitical interests in Central Asia for the US dependent on the Pakistani door.

If Pakistan insisted on a Border fence and sealing the border, the US would have been more than Happy as that would have decisively dealt with the insurgency.

As for the matter of Kashmir, Pakistan didn't send its army, it sent Lashkars from Waziristan to keep plausible deniability, to fight and take Kashmir, before it was annexed into India. What should have happened is a public uprising engineered and the neutralization of the Hindu King Hari Singh. The whole thing was half assed and by the time there was a real commitment, the Indian Ascension had happened and India was drawn into the war.
