Just came to know that the Western Union service cannot transfer money directly to the Habib Bank account.
They have to use an intermediate bank which is called a state agent. That state agent receives the foreign reserve and then transfers an equal amount to the receiver's bank. Guess, who is the state agent?
Hint. it is not National Bank of Pakistan

Some of the comments are just devoid of logic.

Simple math.

City wise Karachi generates 40%+ tax revenues. Heck, Joria wholesale Bazaar pays about 1.x% tax revenue as compared to total revenue of Pakistan.

Province wise Sindh contributes 44% tax revenues.

Companies pay 55% of total taxes, and salaried around 14%.

One can easily infer civilians pay overwhelmingly the most taxes than their counterparts. The trend is same since Pakistan’s inception.

What is more inappropriate is that the Punjab government is buying imported wheat at 3200 at 4700, then fixing the supporting price at 3900, but the farmer is getting the open market rate of 2800 to 3000. The farmer who is getting expensive water, electricity, fuel, seeds, urea, DAP and the government is saying that he has to buy only 2 million tons of wheat out of 7 million
