BD won't be spending more than 2% of its GDP anyway and so 1.5% or 2% really makes no difference. With 2% BD can buld up a far better airforce and military than at 1.5%.

As for India "upping the ante" they really can't much do more against BD as they can totally devastate BD in 48 hours at this time.

However BD needs to be able to make the cost of this Indian strike so painful that India does not see it as a realistic option.

I would rather that 2% was used to tame the Burmese junta and securing the BoB. Any money left over should be spent on adequately remunerating the BGB.

Pakistan has been playing Chinese card for decades now

Pakistans JF-17 doesn’t come with sanctions and blackmail. It holds the power of a 4.5 generation aircraft. JF 17 block 3 is cost effective multi role fighter... In this price no fighter can offer AESA, IRST and PL15 (very very long range missile 200-300 km) and diverse range of air to air, air to surface and air to ground missiles, bombs sub to supersonic nature...refuelling and has seen action and low cost but also importantly well proven.

BD needs to have a military that is commensurate with its population and economic size.

BAF will look to build up to 80-100 fighters of each type.

Yep it needs mobile SAMs and also drones for deterrence at this moment.

Realistically no new fighter is landing in BD before 2030 and so that is some time away.

Frankly so long as BD gets economically strong and is able to thwart any external attempts on influence the return of forces that keep it a vassal state...it's defense is all but guaranteed.

The BAF should opt for JF-17 B3s with AZ style modifications with Turkish systems. As for the engines, the Chinese ones should be preferred provided it's integrated. Bayraktar KIZILELMA and TAI ANKA-3 can take the BAF to the next level. The Muslim style aggression that has gained her freedom from the Bharati proxy rule needs to be reflected in her AF....

Russian Yasen-Ms are roughly on par, certainly better than the Chinese subs, Nuclear Submarines are one of the few left departments where Russians are still ahead of the Chinese.

But the upcoming Diesal electric submarines from China ( type 041 ) or the Hangor equivalents would be good options for BD if they really want a submarine force.

A type 093c will do just fine
