No system is perfect. Its the efficiency that decides their survival. For what its worth, the Pakistani system offers brutal efficiency with extreme prejudice. That goes from top to bottom of the many parallel systems that thrive in Pakistani societies.

There's still a fighting chance for upward social mobility and people prefer a scenario where a poor government is acceptable for richer citizenry. If there's anything 'national' or Pakistani culture by mathematical reduction, it's the mistrust and rebellious nature to the 'man'.

It has been proposed before that national projects are needed for self sustainability. Those projects are now what can only be described as warzone, be it water management projects or maritime aspirations or deep earth mining. It's a well practiced successful routine from Sumerians to Egyptians and plethora of local indigenous empires and kingdom.
