And what kind of rock these mountains have? is like Granite or just regular rocks, I am asking this because we have seen US using bunker busters bombs to hit Iranian facilities to trap their uranium under the mountains. But given the ranges zig zaggy nature it will be hard to pin point without a very good intelligence network on ground and in space.

Well if you want to go for best rock then it's only in Gilgit and surroundings. Or may be Balochistan. You can't find best spot for everything at just one place.

I would rather have a much more complex range with its expending several hundred KM, than a much more harder rock, we are not locking horns with America but India with its limited strike capability, so we don't need a lot wrt to India, also we have a much better AD/AF than Iranians so their underground cities came at cost of their Air force and air defense.

That's actually a good way of thinking, moving GHQ to Baluchistan would be a great idea but i think that main reason is definitely funds and the situation within Baluchistan itself, but like you said moving top generals and c&c structure will bring massive economic boost to the state.

Just from the top of my mind if the decision is made
the top millitary brass would first need massive highways paved and great infrastrucutre the hospitals , the aps's then o level a level schools and colleges then great hospitals universities would be needed too along with fauji foundation linked companies so that there can be jobs too after retirement , then the dha's.golf clubs hotels.

How hypothetical and funny this may seem but this is the best shot at development of balochistan if somehow top brass can be convinved that islamabad isnt safe and they need to be as far away from Islamabad (if terrorism problem is solved)

No, you raise some valid point given the governance structure of Pakistan, Army is the largest player in Pakistan's politics and we can debate its merit but its the reality that we will have to live with, and its not changing and only a hybrid system can/will work in Pakistan. So what you said is not funny to me but actually make a lot of sense, seeing a massive military infrastructure develop near the people will push more to join the military, which can give stable income and roof of the heads of their kids, which Baluch Sardars don't give a fuq about for common Baluch people. But such a adventure will cost a lot of money for sure, roads/highways/schools/colleges/unis/hospitals/logistics etc.

i think this region looks good as its close to our strike cores as well, and some major air bases. I don't know the Geography and ethnic buildup of this area, is it flat land or more mountainy ?

Yes, you are right but building a complex there would be subject to eliminating terrorism from there.

I wonder which province is more active seismicly ? location of any potential underground structure must be done after a study cause, if i remember correctly we once lost our centrifuges plant in Kahutta due to a earth quake.
