Begin said it: Sadat laughed at us and took Sinai from us in exchange for a white paper.
May God have mercy on Sadat, and the description of him is true: shrewd

President Mohamed Anwar Sadat responded in a statement to the People’s Assembly: I will not allow any settlement on the land of Egypt, even if it fights the world. Let Begin know that our land is sacred.
May God have mercy on the martyr hero

Today, the Egyptian Navy celebrates its 57th anniversary, which coincides with the anniversary of the sinking of the destroyer “Eilat” on October 21, 1967. On this day, the Egyptian Navy succeeded in destroying the Israeli destroyer “Eilat,” which was the largest Israeli naval unit at the time, during its attempt to infiltrate the Egyptian territorial waters.

The process of sinking the destroyer "Eilat" of the Israeli Navy dates back to 1967, when an Israeli naval group infiltrated Egyptian territorial waters off the coast of Port Said as a form of demonstrating the imposition of Israeli control over the maritime theater of operations. After spotting the Israeli vessels, two Soviet-made "Kumar" missile launchers belonging to the Egyptian Navy moved from the Port Said base and fired "Styx" (P-15) anti-ship missiles, which led to the sinking of the destroyer "Eilat." .

This engagement is considered the first of its kind in which surface-to-surface missiles made of small pieces such as launches were used to target huge naval vessels such as destroyers and frigates. This incident prompted Israel to change its maritime strategy by relying on small vessels such as corvettes and launches, in addition to submarines. The operation also played a major role in reshaping naval military strategies and developing maritime defense systems, which prompted the United States to think about creating protection systems against surface-to-surface missiles at the beginning of the 1970s. This was later represented in the development of electronic protection and jamming systems, including Close Combat Weapon Systems (CIWS) such as the Phalanx system.

Attached are collected photos of some of the dead and missing members of the Israeli Navy in the process of destroying and sinking the destroyer “Eilat,” where Israel officially announced the killing and missing of 47 and the injury of 100 others.

With radio silence and under the guise of going to Pakistan, the Egyptian Navy besieges Israel.

Among the successes of the Egyptian strategic deception plan that preceded the October War, the Egyptian naval forces succeeded in infiltrating Bab al-Mandab and taking control of it completely and with absolute secrecy, in a major surprise to Israel that caused the halting and prevention of any ship heading to the Israeli ports on the Red Sea, where thousands of tons of oil were arriving for Israel as well. About hundreds of other commercial ships.

Some elements of Egyptian deception in the Navy:

  1. Arranging maintenance contracts with Pakistan to send Egyptian ships and submarines there for maintenance, which was approved by Pakistan and was broadcast publicly.
  2. Arrangement with Yemen and Sudan to receive some Egyptian ships and submarines in Port Sudan and the port of Aden as a friendship visit during the trip.
  3. Egypt announced that there would be a visit by the Romanian Minister of Defense to Egypt on October 8, and the detailed visit program was announced (it was canceled after the declaration of war).
  4. The Ministry of Defense announced the possibility of naval officers submitting requests to perform Umrah.
  5. Demobilization of a large number of reserve soldiers.
  6. Radio silence for Egyptian units while moving on October 1 to avoid enemy spying operations.
A code signal was sent over the radio on the day of the war to naval vessels to stop all ships heading to Israel, and Israel did not succeed in breaching the blockade until the end of the war.

Results of the siege:

Red Sea: Complete closure of Bab al-Mandab to ships heading from and to Israel until the end of the war. This included the interception of 200 commercial ships. In addition to deploying mines in the Gulf of Suez to prevent Israel from transporting oil from Sinai to the port of Eilat.

The Mediterranean: Egypt sent warships, including submarines and destroyers, and deployed mines near Cyprus and in the area between Malta and the Libyan coast to intercept Israeli ships. This resulted in a threat to a large part of Israeli trade in the Mediterranean.

See thing is, my Arab friend, Arab countries are not united on the Palestinian-Israeli Conflict.

Arab Countries need to support Two State Solution and make the United Nations Security Council push for that solution.

They did exactly that..

When it comes to Palestine they are very united..

Then why do Egypt and Jordan and UAE recognize Israel. Same with Morocco.
Recognizing Israel does not contradict their principal demand..which is the recognition of a Palestinian state.. they all said it publicly and officially..

It is in essence a peace move to show Israel and the US that Arabs are not after Israel destruction as it stated left and right to get the western aid and sympathy..

Things might change radically after this Palestinian genocide by Israel..

sadat ...

intervened on behalf of the Syrians.. and got his iron fist destroyed in snai desert in spite of heavy opposition from shazly....

They had a deal and Sadat respected the deal..only a part of an armored brigade was lost.. far from its iron Fist that lasted to the end of the war..
