We need more data for now just more data atleast 20% scan of our own galaxy data. This will yield hundreds of thousands 'Earth like planets' in habitual zone. See how many microscopic life exists in how many of those scanned planets followed up by complex life. Then can we have some say. Now how many decades perhaps centuries require to scan atleast 20% of those Earth like planets in our milky way that I cannot say perhaps may be 200 years but atleast we will have them have reasonable data to predict life beyond Earth.Maybe but the universe is too vast with too many throws of the dice over billions of years not to have gotten it right many times, relatively and IMO.
