I'm 80 yrs old. Still VERY active . Did a ten mile hike three days ago in the White Mountains of NH. work three days a week for my own carpentry business. Started ice climbing when I was 65 and became a mountain guide at 70. Built a new home this past year. Seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren The list goes on. Life is what you make it.

Well, the crud hit me like a freight train last night. Went from freezing to sweating and back in mere moments. Am only now feeling better.

Pakora , consisting of deep-fried fritters made from a batter of chickpea flour (besan) and various ingredients like vegetables, or chicken. They are known for their crispy exterior and tender interior and are often served as a street food or appetizer, especially with a cup of tea. Nice to have it in raining season. Fried in Mustard oil, Ghee or oil.

Right. And I was served fresh made hot Pakoras with Chai at nearly 14,000 ft on the Deosai National Park of Pakistan barely 3 months ago. And it was cheap--I think all that for Rs. 500--barely $2. Consider the logistics and the price!

We're at the time of the year up here in the high desert that the trees have finally turned and are dropping their leaves. I have a few maple trees that will require some pruning in December along with the two plum trees.
And lots of leaves to rake.

Peak Fall Colors at my house; pic from a couple of weeks ago. Sad beauty of the Fall season! The low temp. two days ago was 27!! I think we are going to get another very cold winter; January 2025 was the coldest January in about four decades!

False alarm. Shortly after posting this, ended right back in bed. Today I feel better. Hope it is not a teaser.

Don't even feel like having coffee. Having a cup of some herbal tea at the moment.

I like hearing such stories!!!
My father in law, who lives right across the street from us, just turned 80 and is quite active and strong. Up into his early 60s, he lived a bad life: Smoky gambling little houses, smoked cigarettes like a chimney, worked third shift jobs, bad cheap food, coffee for water, financial stress... Had a heart attack--a 'widow maker' one about two decades ago. Had a major surgery for that. And now he could out perform me, twenty years his junior, and ALL of my friends who are no more than their 50s or at most mid 60s. He doesn't drink much, quit smoking, and is always physically active in the yard. Inspiring!

Odd. I don't remember ever seeing it. Tagging to follow up later.

Interesting choice of avatar you now sport.

Looks like I will live to see yet another day. Has one more bought of the chills / being hot last night.

Today. Headache is gone, most of the body aches are gone, breathing much better. Feeling good enough I'm planning on getting some things done in the yard.

Finally having coffee! Haven't had any since Monday was felling that bad.
