Old Man's Corners

I once had several Fatboy Slim albums.

I had not even heard of them until in early 2000s, in an episode of 'Sex and the City', some people were dancing on a beach in NYC area on 'Praise You'.

What's this 80's fascination with those who think they are "old"?

If one is 60, one was already graduating and entering the job force when the 80's came around.

Can remember every Friday, gym class, we were taught how to dance to disco in the 70's.

Like to amuse the 20 somethings today when Staying Alive is playing at the truck stop. Still remember the moves.

They get a kick out of me finishing my grove with a finger in the air.
I have love for the 70's and as weird as it may sound, though I was born in 70's, I have a lot of nostalgia for the 70's. Early 80's like 80-82 wasn't really that different from 77 and after. The shows I watched were rerun 70's shows and my parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles home furnishing didn't really change so I can relate to the 70s era.

Here's some love from a great decade...

Another story of a strip club from me and that was in mid 90s. So there was this co-worker who was a big Bible Thumper in my part time blue collared job. He'd always preach me about 'Jesus' and what not at work. Always. But he was going through some marital crisis and was a little unstable then. He kept saying let's go to this strip club, which was only a few miles from our workplace. So one day, I did go with him. Oh, boy, the ladies had the racks small like walnut! Unattractive. And I never liked strip clubs: Too cheesy. Too much sharing of passion with other men around. But surprisingly, even in the strip club the dude kept talking about Jesus. I couldn't wait to leave!!

Late? Aren't you in Pakistan? My family in Karachi is usually up till 3-4 AM every day!! Then they sleep in. I kid you not! Well, all, except the kids who go to school or just 1-2 who have corporate jobs.

Good for you!!
The only time I ever get decent sleep is on ocean cruises. I wear myself out from day long swimming, walking, port tours, and late night disco...

I don't have any strip joint stories as I went to only one of them and it was located in milpitas close to the NASA Moffett field. Frankly I didn't enjoy it.
I prefer one-to-one encounters of the R-rated kind which cannot be told here but I will try one story which could be PG-rated. Stay tuned.

Strip clubs by nature are sketchy. Have been in a couple that were nice (comparatively speaking) and some that you really wanted to shower after leaving.

When we were opening the new DC in ORD, I was staying at the DoubleTree. Stayed there so much a number of the staff knew me on a first name basis.

Well, one weekend, we wrapped up early. Over that the Stephens Convention Center directly across the street from the hotel, they were having some annual tattoo and porn star show. I had already seen some patrons earlier in the day who were headed over. No thanks. Two of the guys on the team were both VERY CHRISTIAN. I said to them "hey guys, let's meet up and go over to the tattoo and porn star show. Maybe get us a tat, perhaps a photo with a couple of the porn babes."

I thought they were both going to die by the looks on their faces. No, I didn't go either. We chose to go over to the entertainment district instead and get a burger and a beer.

Here's an aerial. Circled bldg is the DoubleTree.
