Islamabad.
Islamabad was declared the capital in 1959. Before that, there were about 160 villages on this land.

The ancient name of the land of Islamabad was Rajshahi.

According to the research of geologists, traces of human footprints that are millions of years old have been found here. The traces of human life here are very old.
The basis of this research was the fossils that were found in the area around the Swan River, Morgah Garhi Shahan Swan Camp.

Geologist D.N. Wadia discovered such tools on the banks of the Swan River in 1928 that date back even before the use of stone tools.

If a historian looks at the past of this land, he will see a village in each sector or sub-sector. Rather, he will see its first settlers with their genealogies. The reason for the names of the villages also shows their own identity.

During the construction of the city, many villages located at the foot of Margalla like Noorpur Shahan, Shahdara Saidpur and Golra Sharif have been declared as rural areas of Islamabad and their original form has been maintained.

The total area of this rural area is 38906 square kilometers. Saidpur and Shah Allah Ditta are the oldest villages.

Saidpur's old name was Fatehpur Baoli and it was first settled by Mirza Fateh Beg, a Mughal elder, in 1530. In 1580, Man Singh granted this estate to Sayyid Khan Gakhar while going to Kabul.

Later, it was named Sayyidpur in honor of Sayyid Khan. Sayyid Khan was a descendant of Sultan Sarang Khan. Saidpur has been important since ancient times. In 1849, the British defeated the Sikhs and occupied it.

There were famous Hindu shrines Ram Kund, Lachman Kund and temples, the remains of which are still there. During the Musharraf era, Saidpur was upgraded to the status of a model village.

The majority of the village is inhabited by the Gakhar community, while Janjua Rajput, Awan, Pirkanjan Mughal, Dhaniyal, Gujar, Minhas, Rajput, Bhatti and Syed are also present.

The ancient settlements associated with Syedpur included Chak, Bicho, Mira, Temba, Bar, and Jandala Helan. The largest mosque in Pakistan, Faisal Mosque, is located in Temba. Bar is the area of present-day F-5.

There was a settlement named Dhok Jeevan in Sector E-7.
