The issue is that you or even I would not have done it any differently. Guaranteed! Our government formulated a policy of supporting the elders of Taliban based on having to pick the best of the bad options. Those elders gave way to the Taliban and our security circles ran with those people. The alternate was the NA and earlier Hizb-e-Islami. Both anti-Durand Line and more averse to Pakistani interests. There is no back and forth, Taliban has always been the project GHQ. So hold your own sh|t and learn to live with it.

you got that right. people have selective memory. PTI has never hidden its pro Taliban side. the resettlement of TTP and the family members was as per the wishes and support of PTI leadership. General Faiz (an ambitious general at all costs) was on the same page as Imran Khan who announced that Taliban broke the shakles of slavery. General Bajwa was only looking for his extention.Khuda ka Khauf kero yaar, Ramzan may inta jhoot mat boolo. IK himself admitted to resettling TTP. It was the his Federal Government which initiated this.
“What happened was that after a Kabul fell to the Taliban last August the the Pakistan Taliban were asked by the Afghan Taliban to go back into Pakistan and … that was a great time for us … my government was already negotiating with them so that we would do a resettlement of these people because they were about 40 000 people which were moving into Pakistan amongst them about five to ten thousand fighters but their families too “ he said.

Without local cooperation, anything that can be suggested is futile.well it better find a way becasue we have no option , nothing else will make a difference close down the border stop the smuggling and then ruthlessly kill evey single terrorist in leadership position .
i am sure military leaders cant even strike as much as they want due to the fear of s bombings .
Naujawan it ain't some high school project nor it is some video game. We have very limited resources and a massive task.Man it wherever it is possible. And for rest, modern technology is your friend. Boomer uncles abhi bhi chowki system say bahar nahi niklay.
Where are these people getting this impression that we have the necessary technologies and manpower required for such idealistic solutions? It cannot.
The gent claims that "smuggling has not been stopped".
For smuggling to stop, you need two countries operating in unison to make that happen. Afghanistan's economy operates on smuggling and drug trafficking.
We have border posts that have no mirrors on the other side.
We cannot deploy cheap drones because they lack range, require their operators to be deployed in the no-mans land itself and employing hundreds, thousands of such drones do very little to keep an eye on a 2600 KM border.
