Persians were imperial global lords so they probably saw Jews as a harmless entity.
My kind tribal Azeri Turks were not in the region, we entered Iran much later and became its guardians. We are known to be not-so-merciful people so Jews dodged a bullet big time.

This is a political propoganda started in 90s by Israeli-backed Turkish governments who thought they could Balkanize Iran on ethnic lines. Because they did not understand the depth of the Iranian or dare I say Iranic society so the plan backfired and now the same Azerbaijan republic is a Shia militant state massacring and controlling Caucasus, sitting over the biggest oil reserves of Eurasia. The Baku ruling elite is the same band of former KGB officers who in USSR times were running PKK rings in Turkey so lets just say Israelis made a judgment error.
Historically, we Azeri Turks turned Iran into a Shia Theocracy to keep it a separate entity connected to its Persian superpower past. Iran for the last 900 years has been under Iranian Turk control. Even the earliest Turkic kings of Iran called themselves the successors of Aryan kings of Persia. Persian or Iranian culture was promoted though we were outsiders. At the height of our power, our empire once stretched from Indian Capital Delhi to Eastern Anatolia and Georgia under the Qizilbash control. Because of us, Ottomans could not move an inch outside East Anatolia despite ruling over every other entity and Arabs were back to being colonies. You can say we are the creators of modern Iran. Currently, the Supreme leader, the Chief of the entire armed forces, the President himself are all Azeri Turks of chieftain lineages probably the reason Iran is a stubborn as hell country.

Identity of Iran will always be Aryan (Iranic) and the culture and language will be always Persian. (the first Iranic tribe that united all of Iran in ancient times )
Azeris in Iran are closest by DNA to Persians. Khamenei is half persian half azeri.
In tehran (where i live) nobody asks you "are you persian or azeri ?".
