Opinion: India Pakistan near conflict - Escalation management non-existent

Fake or real - doesn't matter. Any Pakistani who thinks we can survive as a nation without the complete destruction of India is living in a fools paradise.

Park the notions of escalation ladders and strategic restraint - always go for the kill, no matter what.

First, a very happy independence day to all !

Just for this purpose of escalation steps, we've now created a PA Rocket Force!! Pakistan will now have two rocket & missile forces:

PA Rocket Force: Conventional rockets and missiles force. Core focus on all locally produced rockets and missiles under the Fateh program. Currently, Fateh 5 is in development. This force's core responsibility is to respond with appropriate mix of weapons, ranging from rockets, cruise missiles and supersonic / hypersonic missiles in a conventional war.

Pakistan Strategic Forces Command:
- Strategic nuclear delivery force designed only to give a nuclear response with strategic missile systems like Ghauri, Shaheen, Ababeel, etc.

Secondly, I agree with you and many others on this "responsible" and "escalation management" issue. It's called out in the title of this thread. It's missing and should remain missing.

Modi and India need to KNOW and BELIEVE in the fact that if it grabbed our arms, we'll go straight for their head next time without any "discussion" with anyone. That's why the PA made the "starting from East" remark. When Modi knows we only want their head and don't care about the rest of the body, the choices become much limited and "restrained" is a wise choice left.

Here are some points from my side, which I believe you might also agree with:

1. Pakistan’s economic upward trajectory? With the current corrupt establishment and political elite, such progress is impossible for at least the next 100 years.
2. The core issue in India — and to some extent in Pakistan — is joblessness. Tens of millions under the age of 30 are unemployed, with millions more joining the ranks each year. Any escalations by either India or Pakistan are nothing more than diversion tactics.
3. Regime change in Pakistan and Bangladesh is complete. In India, it’s currently in progress. In my view, Rahul Gandhi is likely to be India’s future prime minister—provided he isn’t assassinated.
4. Pakistan’s military and establishment are complicit with every enemy of the country — both internal and external. Why then do they still claim to be the nation’s guardians or protectors?

None of your points are worth even a discussion as they are written for a political narrative and FAR from reality. I'll cover 1 or 2 below.

S&P, Fitch and Moody's have ALL raised Pakistan's international credit ratings. One just happened yesterday. These are global institutions and watch dogs for world economies. If they have trust in Pakistan's economy and it's growth, that's what matters.

Our stock market is in top 10 highest return giving markets in the world. It's only August and it's set to give near 55% profit to investors. There is may be 1 or 2 markets in the world who can do this. And above 40% returns have been given year on year for the past 3 years!

You should take your political issues and problems to a political thread and not derail this discussion.

All indians especially their ruling elite think like this. He is saying out loud what all indians think. At least he is being honest. Operation sindoor was born out of this thinking and belief. As far as india and indians are concerned there is ONLY ONE thing Pakistanis need to know. In case of a war, how do we annihilate and wipe india off the face of the universe. NOTHING else.

The newly formed conventional Rocket Force should've been named "akhand bharat full stop force". A "Kill Chain" of subsonic, supersonic and hypersonic missiles at their service when they want it.

Army and Airforce are good and up to date in majority of areas. This one thing missing, is now established too, the Rocket force.

PN needs a lot of upgrading. Size wise, its a medium sized Navy compared to the Indian Navy's large size. While we develop it to 50+ combat ships over time, a quick capability increase would be to acquire 4-6 missile attack subs, and hopefully add a nuke sub even on lease, to create a second strike capability.

To deter IN, you put near 6 missile attack subs near the entrance into Pakistan's EEZ from the Indian side and you are much safer. If they really want to lose an aircraft carrier, they can try to come in. These 6 attack subs if acquired quickly, will buy us time to bring in destroyers and frigates equipped with VLS systems.

I agree. I think we need to build a national narrative: India is our anti-existence force. The two can't meet, ever.

What's amazing is, that a man called Mr. Jinnah, who barely practiced Islam, saw this SAME we are seeing today, over 90 years ago and fought hard for us, to create an Islamic nation and beat two most cunning people on planet at that time, the Hindus and the Brits, and ended up with Pakistan!
