Opinion Piece: Let me share a truth with the Hindus: In Modi's 12 years in power, GDP growth has been almost zero

Just saying Goggle CEO is an Indian. That's all.

Have a nice day :)

Apples and Oranges.

Don't waste time with irrelevant posts, it spoils the discussion and reduces trust.
I appreciated your posts, the best approach is to recognise it and move on.

Chinese favorite leaders are Modi and Trump. No one has done more for China than Trump creating chaos and fighting within their own union and dragging his country into a laughing stock. Modi does absolutely nothing but yap yap yap while the average indian living conditions has not improved and have become super reliant on chinese tech and US internet infrastructure and apps. So we hope Trump and Modi can be leaders forever.
The way Modi and Trump operate has a specific name: theater politics. Everything is a performance. They must stay center stage at all times. The moment the spotlight is off them, their political life ends instantly. Why? Because their voter base is low-information — they crave emotional stimulation far more than reason. Nehru once said something classic:"No middle position attracted me. Nor did I think any intermediate position feasible."

So they have to stay extreme, and they have to be highly theatrical.

Modi and Trump may look like clowns and charlatans. But what made them that way is their voters — without extremism, they can't mobilize turnout. Of course, their cognitive limits are obvious. That doesn't mean they are stupid — on the contrary, it proves they are smart.

Agree except the last statement. The reality is probably more nuanced.

Modi is stupid and easily played. His voters are also stupid. Behind the scenes, there are actually 2 or 3 very intelligent Indian extended cabinet members who are a genuine threat. I won't name them.

Trump is smart but reckless and moreover, his hand is forced for reasons we all know only too well.

I don't think Modi has any physiological intellectual disability :) — but both he and Trump have cognitive blind spots, and both are timid at heart. They rely on putting on a deliberate show of arrogance and majesty. To be honest, timidity is not necessarily a bad trait in a leader. But one is treated as an evangelical saint, the other as an incarnation of Rama — and they are surrounded by sycophants. Over time, both Trump and Modi have come to believe they truly possess some kind of divinity. That is how Operation Fury and Operation Sindoor came about. You could say Trump was egged on by Bibi — but the final decision was his alone. Arrogance overpowered the timidity within.

You are quite wise.

Now if the other guy wants to add anything i will read it. The impression i get is that the Chinese laid the framework and india built on that. A solution does not have to be a carbon copy, you merely have to apply the lessons to different solutions. It doesn't mean the original contribution has lost it's value. That's my impression so far.

But i'm keen to learn, since it's so important to both of you, i can spend few more minutes on the topic.
If you want to praise Chinese in a thread, that's it I rest my case.
If by 'laid the framework' you simply mean China demonstrated that digital payments could work at massive scale, then sure, China deserves credit for that.
Making China the main driver of India’s digitalisation, however, is where I think the argument becomes fallacious. Being an earlier example is not the same as laying the framework someone else built on.

UPI emerged from India’s own banking infrastructure, NPCI, IMPS and the broader India Stack, Aadhaar (biometric data) ecosystem. Its architecture is also fundamentally different from the Alipay/WeChat Pay model.

Problems & Vulnerabilities

1. Infrastructure Outages & Glitches
  • Intermittent Downtime: Major commercial banks frequently experience short, unpredictable outages where "IMPS services are temporarily unavailable due to technical issues". [1, 2]
  • Transaction Timeouts: High network traffic leads to timed-out requests. This leaves funds "in limbo"—debited from the sender but not credited to the receiver—causing user panic and severe reconciliation burdens for banks. [1, 2, 3]

2. Liquidity and Settlement Risks
  • Asymmetric Settlement Loads: IMPS uses a Deferred Net Settlement (DNS) model. Transactions clear immediately for consumers, but banks settle net balances with each other in periodic batches. [1]
  • Liquidity Shortages: If a mid-sized bank suffers an unexpected surge in outward IMPS requests, it can run out of intraday liquidity in its central bank account. This risk delays settlements and threatens minor systemic shocks. [1]

3. Security and Operational Risks
  • No Chargeback Mechanism: IMPS transactions are instant and irreversible. If a user accidentally enters one wrong digit in an account number or IFSC code, the funds are permanently sent to the wrong person with virtually no automated recourse. [1, 2]
  • Systemic Credit Software Flaws: Technical bugs can be catastrophic. For example, a severe glitch in a government-owned bank's IMPS routing software accidentally credited massive, erroneous funds to accounts without actually receiving the money from the originating banks, forcing a temporary total shutdown of the service. [1]

Oh no you found same trouble an ATM card faces in a card machine in digital payment.

NPCI (UPI) has a 99% up time. The failures you found from Google are banking server issues.
