PA MLRS, Self Propelled and towed artillery [BM-11, Fatah-I GMLRS, Fatah-II] - News, Updates & Discussions

It's not Abdali as we know it.
It has two sets of fins at the back.
Abdali had a set of stabilizing fins at the back and maneuvering canards at the front.
There are no canards at the front.
Just two different set of fins

What kind of improvement is this? Fateh-II with 400 KM range and Fateh - III with 450 KM, only +50 km. Plus, why Pakistan is creating this ambiguity between this particular missile being Fateh-III with conventional warhead and Abdali-II with nuclear warhead? What if its launch with conventional warhead is taken by India as a nuclear strike and India puts its own ready to go plans as counter-nuclear strike? Doesn't make any sense at all.
No where it was mentioned it's a nuclear capable missile, keeps the enemy at toes.
The reason could be,
It's now hypersonic.
Carries a heavier warhead.
They could have been need for a hypersonic system at this range.

What happened to Nasr, is that still in service?

Nothing really goes out of service, if it has shelf life left as a weapon system or it is soo obsolete that it has no military value. Systems designed for primary targets, will be repurposed for secondary or lower tier targets over time.

Fateh III without nuclear warhead is Fateh III the moment nuclear is attached it becomes this modern Abdali.

Is it really sensible to give the same missile different names simply by attaching different warheads? If I'm not wrong, all Pakistani nuclear missiles are also capable of delivering warheads with conventional payloads.

In my personal view, It's either Hatf Series Abdali Missile or Fateh Series GMLRS or it maybe Fateh Series GMLRS derived from Hatf Series Abdali Missile Technology.

Abdali is different from Fatah-III. Moreover, Abdali Weapon System unlike Fatah series can carry nuclear payload. Thus, this is not the appropriate thread to discuss SSM.

Abdali has been revamped after being handed over to a different institution within SPD within the last score.

It makes more sense that it's the Fatah-III given that it's range and development timing aligns with that.

Abdali was previously a 200KM missile, revamping and returning with a 450KM missile would've made more sense with the longer range Ghaznavi.

Unless you believe you have credible inside sources that confirmed this of course and it isn't speculation

Fatah Missile Test 05th May 2025 :

Following the Fatah-3 Abdaali Tests last week , Pakistan successfully conducted the test flight of its indigenously developed surface-to-surface missile - Fatah - which is capable of hitting targets up to 120 kms.as part of ongoing “Ex INDUS”, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

“The flight test was aimed at validating the design and performance features of the weapon system,” said the ISPR, adding that the missile is a part of Pakistan’s tactical strike capability.

Pakistan today conducted a successful training launch of a FATAH Series surface-to-surface missile with a range of 120 kilometers as part of ongoing Ex INDUS.

The launch was aimed at ensuring the operational readiness of troops and validating key technical parameters, including the missile’s advanced navigation system and enhanced accuracy.
I think the entire Fatah series GMLRS are being assigned Tactical nuclear role. They even labelled Fatah 1&2 with 150 and 400km of range as GMLRS. And now 120 km range Fatah missile is being termed as a missile.
Either warhead weight has been increased couple with anti jamming navigation system, which makes it a missile rather than a guided rocket.
Man these faujis are confusing us
