PAF F-16 | Discussions

If it happens Chinese wont be allowed to breath the air within 100km of them. Ensured by the US and Pakistan.
I think the main purpose of upgrading BLK52s or getting UAE F-16s would be to mainly have an extra squadron or two of potent BVR aircraft so that J-10s and JF-17s can focus on strike and air denial roles more. Just to keep already inducted platforms more viable as a stop gap and in crease the numbers purely for self defence. I mean, India really creates a situation where F-16s would be used in what would be self defence anyway...

PAF already proved it doesn't need US equipment to down the top of the line Russian/French equipment.

Plus I am sure Chinese wouldn't want US or any Pakistani moles near J-35s as well when the time comes....

And J-10C's can't do that?

More importantly - even if it is mentioned - the Indian lobby in the US and UaE is exceptionally well entrenched.

India runs the UaE for their royal family.
Top to bottom now.
Hi,

I think the indian lobby in the US is in a little "panic mode---in turmoil---".

They can't seem to figure out Pres Trump.

Of course, but you cannot stop PAF pilots telking the Chinese whatever they want and training with them

After a year in PAF service, Chinese pilots will have all they need to know

New J10Cs will cost more money.....plus as many mentioned here.....there are advantages to having US state department and military/non-military people stationed in Pakistan for F-16s oversights.....advantages that aren't really black and white on paper.

If we didn't have a funds issue
I have no doubt PAF would've been shopping for EF Typhoons.

As good as the vipers are (and a slim possibility that we may acquisition some new airframes) the end user agreement is the real issue. If Pakistan can somehow can losses certain strings it's advantageous for us

If the UAE F-16 news is true which is highly unlikely, it seems PAF has learned a lesson or two from the past. Choosing 2nd hand Block 60s over New Vipers means Pakistan want whats available for immediate delivery, not something that will be subject to embargoe as soon as the new US administration comes or when Trump changes his mind.

BVR and Strike aircraft.

I don’t buy the UAE story at all

Not true as Blk 60s uses GE engines and PAF only has PW powered F16s

Australia is purchasing 200 AMRAAM C5/8s and 200 AMRAAM Ds for a total of 1.3 billion...that's about 3 million a piece.......so why would PAF want to spend that much on just the missiles......too high a price.....
nothing coming out of PAF pockets.

Yea UAE one seems BS, but then stranger things have happened....like 4th largest Airforce of a superpower being grounded for two days and gone without a kill for 6 years......
