Can J-10Cs not be modified with an appropriate ejector rack to support PL-17?

I don't know, I've only seen pictures of J-16 carrying PL-17.

Maybe you should ask @Deino.

btw: The PL-17 is so large that the PL-17 and PL-15 are usually considered to be missiles of the same generation. And it is the PL-16 that is the next generation missile.

Highly highly unlikely as of now. There is no need, given that the PL15 outclasses the Meteor it seems and while PAF has that advantage, it will not invest in a new missile, given how many other competing demands for its limited funds there are.
Regardless if this acquisition is confirmed, there is always a need to strike deeper and faster. Pakistan may have acquired a few rounds on emergency basis, like we acquired PL-15 during 2019 hostilities, when AMRAAM range capability was revealed to the Indians the hard way..🤩🤩😁🤣

It is nice if Indians are still petrified flying 200 km inside their territory, this story would do that....👍👍

2019?

China is delivering PL-15E to Pakistan on an emergency basis on April 29, 2025. that's a week before the Pakistan-India air war broke out.

2019 is when the F-16 shot down the MIG-21.

The Israeli news website "Natsif Net" said that until now, it appears that China was keen to sell limited -range missiles only to foreign markets, but "news stories" began to appear in Pakistani newspapers, and widely covered the victories and achievements of their army on the Indian army, which was superior to several orders in size.

The latest news from Pakistani sources claims that its fighters managed to shoot down a Rafale Indian fighter using a PL-15 missile from about 182 km.
The Hebrew site explained that the direct conclusion is that the report is either clearly inaccurate, or that China has already sold the air-to-air missile to Pakistan without export restrictions.

He added that if China has already sold this missile without restrictions, that is, about 300 km range, then this would cause concern among Israeli security officials.
He continued: "Suddenly, the fear that China will sell this missile to Egypt without export restrictions".

You simply should not post or believe what any random "source" posts!

For example, this is clearly just a CG and again NO J-10C has been seen confirmed carrying a PL-17. Again, check your sources, check the content and do not post any stupid BS!

If you take whatever you find in the internet and believe it, then there is also intelligent life on Venus ... and in fact as a moderator you should know this!

A batch came here to be retrofitted and tested on block 3 prototypes. Weren't really delivered for use against India. Vipers and Amraams were more than enough

IAF stands no chance in air-air battle if they come anywhere near the LoC / IB.

However, PAF needs to find a solution for their aircrafts launching stand off munitions from deep inside their airspace - without risking own aircrafts to indian AD.

There is no smoke without fire.. the news might not be confirmed yet..I recon.. but the Arab defense site is well reputed in the ME..at least.. and it is not random..Israel's big news Agencies talked about it too..

again, havasoj will be an extremely powerful system, it would also have far better directionality and band covg, these are all things you wont find on a fighter. havasoj is literally designed to be extremely effective from STANDOFF ranges

I hope you are right. I’m sure the PAF will assess, especially at the full scale Shaheen exercises against the S-400, and procure any further systems if the Havasoj doesn’t cover it.

Only 4 countries operate the S-400. Two of them are Turkey and China. Would be amazed if PAF does not know the system inside out already

Not exactly but the issue also is PAF’s needs to strike in depth. You’re not risking the global 6000 crossing in depth - however that doesn’t necessarily mean an escort jammer and just decently powerful pods will do as well.
Just one point for all this, but a project like "Al-Murtajiz' would deploy ECM/EA to the front without burdening the fighters nor risking a HAVASOJ. This is one of the roles of an unmanned decoy, to carry EA/ECM for jamming at the front without risking any of your major assets. In fact, the PAF doesn't even need a new thing to pull this off, it can repurpose the Taimoor or even KaGeM V3 for this task.

Basically the equivalent of the Mald-J. That could be good escorting system alongside a strike package of manned fighters, considering fielding something within our means.

Bro
I cant see this being reported anywhere else? Is it confirmed?
I don't mean disrespect to this intl mod but he and one another guy also post so many things in "Egyptian armed forces" thread that no other body on earth knows about. If you have time you can check yourself. Many of the claims are completely lacking reference or evidence.

The point is, when some idiots constantly claim there is smoke where in fact nothing is, it become difficult to see when there's truly a fire!

And all the stupid you post is garbage, BS, nonsense, FAKE and exaggerated claims hyped up by stupid fan-boys or media outlets who cannot even differ between a J-10 and F-16 let alone are interested that Pakistan or Egypt will surely not get a super-advanced PL-17 on a type that cannot carry it even before China hs it operational in its own Air Force.

And in fact that you as a moderator are supporting this BS is a shame!
