Yeah but that could actually be true if you measure in TNT mass... Todays explosives are smaller and more lethal(errr)...

India today initially reported some drone activity over Delhi and then everything went hush hush...

@Oscar wouldn't PAF's much touted EW Aircraft and systems be able to sniff the Indian AD and other assets emissions and figure out if they had gone silent then there was window of opportunity to sneak in?

erieyes are equipped with the HES21 suite designed for ESM/ELINT

You are right........but they could hardly deploy what they did have, i.e. the much over hyped Meteors..........Meteor was literally the reason they wanted to get Rafales.

R-37 might be 400km, but how are you gonna provide actionable guidance over that long distance?

Always remember, Russian numbers are almost always overstated. There is a 60+ year history behind it. When China says 250+ km, it is that. For PL15, all Chinese say it has a range of 200-300 km. PAF has hit an IAF fighter at almost 200 km. When America says the max range of AMRAM 120C5 is 115 km, in real terms it is very close. But when Russian numbers say it is 115 km, it is most probably 70-80 km, best case. The Su30MKI radar was boosted as a mini aewcs. It turns out JF17Blk2 and Su30MKI see each other almost at the same time.

In comparison to PL15 the R-37 guidance and Nez who will be better is a question too over those ranges.
